Karma me all you want, but the Blackhawk is only good for getting fast AA kills nowadays.

I say we dump the Blackhawks off the USS Essex into the sea and start a massive demonstration.

I totally agree that there should be some compensation for the pathetic performance of the F-35.  A decent gun on the BH (like it used to be) could make all the difference on maps like Wake 2007 where otherwise you've got the PLA and US attack choppers which match up even, but then two J-10's vs. two F-35's is no contest and the BH is nothing better than a coffin for six.  Half the round is wasted just trying to get off the boat leaving your best bet (imo) to try and get an F-35 and use it simply as a transport vehicle to bail out over the PLA airfield...maybe drop bombs on the north or south side on the way there.  So yes, especially for maps like Wake where you otherwise have worthless aircraft, I wish the BH was what it was.

On the other hand, there's maps like Clean Sweep with the Mig and the Su on the MEC side, and the F-18 and F-15 on the US side.  With that match-up, then to throw the good 'ol BH into the mix would make the fight totally one sided.

As much as I loved the old BH, if I had the choice I would go for improvements on the F-35.  Mainly just to make it more of a fair fight (as far as the equipment).  But if the BH was improved I certainly wouldn't complain.

The splash damage from the BH gun was pretty sweet and tbh I was sick and tired of hearing people complain about how hard it was to beat.  All you needed was a couple of savvy AT guys to protect your squad, and a bit of co-ordination.

However, I think rather than weaken (I hate the term 'nerf' as much as I hate 'noob'), the BH guns, they should have upped the MEC chopper weapons.  Make them either a little more like the Anti-infantry guns on the Mi-28, or massively up their damage against vehicles which would give the teams a different tactical advantage.

I remember in the pre-patch days on Mashtuur when in a BH, we would pass an MEC transporter in the sky - you could wipe out everyone in the chopper in a few seconds and watch it spin off into the sky.  If the MEC weapons were better at Anti-armour then they could down the BH in a similar amount of time.

PLA has the best fighter (J10), the US and MEC are smiliar to each other
MEC has the best helicopter (Mi-28), the PLA and US are similar
AND USMC USED TO HAVE THE BEST TRANSPORT( THE BLACKHAWK) but they nerfed it. so the only thing left for USMC thats good and flies is the F15

played with the blackhawk today in a 16 person server at a 64 person map.. i'd just take the blackhawk to the front line (assuming no tanks), LAND IT a few yards off from an enemy squad.. and then switch seats and open up.

If any of you have seen that video of a BH in flight, with the gunner taking out targets with the minigun as they're flying, you'll know its pretty much a flying death machine. Its almost a stream of melted lead coming from that thing. What EA should have done, is reduce the strength of the armour not the minigun. Not much, but enough that an AT rocket to the main or tail rotor would incapacitate it enough that it needed to bug out for repairs.

THE Blackhawk gun was the most formidable thing it had at as a line of defense against any of the groundpounders, unless you have a WELL formed team, say in Wake Island, the Blackhawk isn't gonna do you any good except fly up as high as friggin' possible, parachute out and pray to God you capture any flag you land on, manage to hold it and have teammates be smart enough to spawn on it and forget the jets and helicopters behind and really get in on the action where it belongs.

I do remember the good ol' blackhawk days, lived them out as much as possible before the patch came out and was really happy about the vehicle health reduction... but when I found out they put down the gun on it, that made it practically... useless.

why dont they just bring back the rocket pods, so that the BH is matched---crappy guns but with sweet rockets
