I'll keep this short. I just got a new E-Geforce 6600 video card. (It says e-geforce on the box. Don't know if that makes a difference between Geforce and E-Geforce.) It's brand spanking new video card from circut city (ordered offline). It fixed all my problems I've been having with my ATI 9600.

See in the pic the little dot or dots next to his token? Is that an early sign of graphics corruption? I'm only fretting over something so stupid because this is a brand new card, and I want to know if I should take any action. I'm playing on medium settings in bf2, 1024 by 786, latest drivers for this card, dust free machine, yes I have specs above minimum requirements.

Again, I'm only getting in a hissy about it because this is, for the third time, a god damned new video card, and I see no reason for esoteric bullshit like this. Should I just lower my settings a bit, is this normal? What?

Oh yeah, and I notice this each and every time I play. Again, the "corruption" is the little dot next to his position marker. Please, refrain from giving me neg karma for being an idiot, but trust me, this both scares me and pisses me off at the same time.

What settings can you get with your 6600? I have 1 and I get mediums and low and I dont want to buy a new computer cause my sound card is good but I only have 512 RAM. So im wondering what settings I could get if I had 2 gigs or more

I'm not entirely sure I understand what you mean by "his token" but I can't see anything wrong in the picture you posted. If you can give us a better idea of exactly where the graphical anomaly is, I think it would help to assess what (if any) problem you have. Maybe you could circle it in photoshop or something.

On the other hand, if you think you've got a faulty card, I'd say get in touch with the company who sold it to you, and ask for a refund.

You could just upgrade your computer.. or take out your sound card and other components and put it into a mesh custom computer.

No, I get it with anyone, any kits, ect. Yes, it is a very small corruption (if you want to call it that).

I just got a new video card which made me get a new mother board, so I dont feel like spending money for a new either 1 of those.
I have a 80GB hard drive a pentium 4 processor
512 RAM
AC97 sound card
6600 video card

Im thinking of getting 2gb of RAM and putting that in my computer. If I can run BF2 on all mediums and mabey some high settings Im happy. Anyways its only 100$ which is better then 1300$ for a new computer

Dude I can't even see anything in that pic, you've circled nothingness in my oppinion, its probably just a patch problem reacting with your card..

I'd say its normal with that card. I run a little high for a 6600 (most med settings 1152x864) and I overclock it a tad. I get quite a few artifacts like that, especially at distance. I don't think your card is crapping out on you, it just doesn't hang like the 6800 and above.

Save as a better quality jpeg lol.. and crop the image, i'm sorry but i still don't see anything wrong, and what i do see is nothing worth worrying about corruption wouldn't affect something in that way.

I just want to know if my card is going bad or if I need to lower my settings a tad.

you should see me on kubra dam after a good 3 hours playing..
whole sections of the hillsides start to flicker and dissapear..

its a bitch for flying.. but quite useful for defending the intake

then i have to stop playing cos EVERYTHING disappears
