I still have a long way to go for Master Sgt. Why can't Master Sgt promotion be at 40,000 instead of 50,000?!

It was a tad anoying the 30,000 gap, but in all honesty, any guy you see thats made it, and ranks above, they all had to do the exact same thing so no point crying over it. Besides you are barely serg majour before you go to 2nd lt.
I would agree 1st serg looks better, but tbh, when I see either rank i just think 'hmm that guy is on atleast 20,000 points'. Still, theres no real reason u cant have all the basic badges, and since the patch, you can get your basic, veteran and expext badges in one go.

Call me a Nub, I was a master gunnery sgt for quite some time. The first MASTER SGT in my clan, first 2nd lieutenant, first 1st lieutenant, first major, and first lieutenant colonel.ExecutionerStyle wrote:

And in 21k I will be the first Colonel in my squad, and I am hardly considered a noob. I tried to get the stupid knife badge and it was just hurting my KD ratio so I just focused on incorporating knifing people in my daily pwnings.
As time passed I felt I was confident enough to get my vet knife and basic knife and on Mashtuur I got it.
A few months later I made the plunge and got my 18 for expert knife and 18 for expert pistol the same day since those were the only awards I currently qualified for.
If anything if I am close to an award I will put it on a TO DO list for the day to knock it out of the way.
Otherwise I really dont focus on it.
For instants the repair points needed for my metorious unit medal I have like 149 left. The way I see it, if I am playing and I notice something is blown up I go WOOT and play engineer all round waiting for someone to reek havok on my shit. But if we're losing and my team needs help I will play a kit I feel I can take out 6-8 people with before I die once.
I find that way more satisfying than hearing the stupid drum roll.
IMO getting Master Gunnery Sgt or First SGT doesnt mean shit and when you're in a server nobody gives a flying fuck what your rank is anyway unless you're a butter bar and above. Then people normally will flock to your team because they think you're the second coming of christ to battlefield when in reality you just play more and better than they do.
Master sgt is fugly in game compared to 1st
Am only able to finish around 25% of rounds, keep losing connection. Had 5 or 6 knife kills when the server took a dump. Try not to think any less of me if I don't get knife. ha

gunnery sergeants will be promoted to EITHER first sgt or master sgt. you cant be promoted to either from the other. if you get master sgt, you cant be promoted to first sgt if you get all the badges u need.
first sgt needs all basic combat badges for the kits, basic knife combat and basic pistol combat.
master sgt doesnt need any badges.
at 20000 points, if you dont have the needed badges, youll get master sgt. otherwise, first sgt.
master and first sgt can be promoted to either master gunnery sgt or sgt major. EITHER LOWER RANK CAN GO TO EITHER HIGHER RANK. master/first sgt without all basic vehicle badges (armor, jet, chopper, transport, aa, ground) will get master gunnery sgt. master/first sgt with all basic vehicle badges will get sgt major.
if youre a master sgt, you do NOT need the basic combat badges to get sgt major. if you really hate the sniper kit, you can still make it to sgt major, but youll have to live thro master sgt first.
sgt major and master gunnery sgt both promote to 2nd LT.
sgt major of the corps isnt used anymore or something, so ignore it.

Well I disagree entirely; I went to Master Sergeant and I had "Expert Bayonet" at Gunnery Sergeant...
I chose not to get the basic badges for AT, Sniper, Medic or Support...

Technically, in real life a First Sergeant is of higher rank than that of a Master Sergeant when speaking of the american army ranking system.
