I reviewed the BF2 Wiki entry today...and was disappointed.  They really left out a lot of information about patch v1.3!

BEFORE I wrote:

Patch version 1.30 (officially released on May 23, 2006) featured numerous bug fixes, new gameplay mode: [[Cooperative gameplay|Co-op]] for internet and LAN, and gameplay changes and additions such as vehicle drops (ground transports only).

AFTER I wrote:

Patch Update Version 1.3 (officially released on May 23, 2006) featured numerous bug fixes, and a new internet and LAN gameplay mode: [[Cooperative gameplay|Co-op]].  Gameplay alterations were also introduced.  Some of the major changes being the restriction of squad hopping and the additional commander ability to give vehicle drops (limited to ground transport vechicles only).  The awards system was also updated.  Many of the previously high-requirement award requirements were reduced.  Numerous new bugs were also introduced with this patch, one of the most significant being frequent server crashes.

I encourage all of you to go check it out here and add whatever you think I missed (I'm sure there is plenty of significant stuff I did not cover):

I have also noticed in the past that the people who watch over the BF2 Wikipedia entry seem a little bit up-tight and kind of remind me of the Nazis I learned about when we studied the Holocaust in school.  As much as I'm sure we can all appreciate the large amount of energy they seem to have exerted into making sure only the stuff that they want available about BF2 is available on the wiki (as well as keeping it nice looking, THANKS!), they make a lot deletions and edits regarding things which some people  (myself included) strongly disagree with.  So I would like to take this moment to encourage those of you who give a damn about BF2 (After v1.3 I'm not even sure that I care that much...but hey, that's another thread ;)) to head over there and add what some of the legitimate information and resources which are currently unavailable about BF2 (RE: things which are acceptable in the Wikipedia guidelines, not defacing/vandalism).

Rock On.

I'm an occasional Wikipedia contributor.  While some of the moderators seem Nazi-esque, vandalism is surprisingly common on the site, and many an entry contains a bearfaced cheap shot or two buried within a paragraph of legitimate information.  They go out of their way to maintain a neutral tone in each article, and sometimes that means giving the ax to information that may be true, but potentially inflammatory.

That said, I personally think it sucks.  I don't think we should need to cover EA's ass in a Wikipedia article about one of their games.  Besides, it's not as though it's slander--patch 1.3 (along with every patch before it, I might add) has created more problems for many players than they have fixed.

Unfourtunately, I would recommend that few people try to edit the wikipedia article. Why?

NPOV. Now, who here thinks they can stick to NPOV and not rant about the patch while forgetting everything else about it?

Why wouldn't you be able to? Just state the facts.  Obviously ranting and raving goes against wikipedia.
