I am sick of these people who have no idea how to play the game.  They keep going to hotel realizing that they are not going to be able to capture it.  In a commander perspective when you send many orders to many squads to attack the suburbs and nobody listens it can get really frustrating.  Do they realize that there is a back route to the place and nobody is really ever even there???????

I had to go out there myself as commander and capture it seamlessly just to avoid the bleeding due to these worthless squad leaders that do not listen at all.

Anyways we lost the round because nobody listened and by the time I got there we had already lost 40+ tickets.

It depends on how your force is organised. A batter of the Hotel can work. However, seemingly your team was just pretty worthless! Bad luck!

A lot of the problem rests with the large number of commanders out there that rarely command.  Most commanders don't actually command at all.  You are probably one of the exceptions and when someone like you actually commands, winning becomes easier.  The only time I actually listen to the commander is when he/she orders over voip.  Keep up the good work and continuing commanding!

I use voip now to command because I found that the sqaud leaders will listen to me.
Fox,
You still want a number of sqauds fighting at the hotel and only have one maybe two sqauds go the back way to capture flags.

I'd like to find a commander that can use his assets - for example.  I play SpecOps quite a bit (note: I never said "well").  I have yet to hear a commander tell me "Grab the Support Guy and go blow things up."

On the other hand - I did tell my commander on Karkand that I was going after assets, just as I approaced the water to swim across, he dropped a perfect arty barrage so I could get across safely!

Thats the problem, I use VoIP and most of the time it works.  But this time I was in a server without it and trying to tell them to go somewhere is pretty much useless. Thats why if nobody listens I tell every squad to some hope that maybe, just maybe that they will listen to me.

I always listen to my commander, but the problem with that is, quite often there will be only one person listening. And there is always an enemy squad that rushes to the flag after I've taken it. Me vs. A whole squad is not good odds.
I've ended with my worst rounds trying to follow a commanders orders.

Anothr reason why I play only in servers where voip is enabled.

My Bluetooth heaset won't work in BF2 so no VoIP for me..  But I almost always listen to my higher-ups.  Unless I get one of those commanders that tell me to go take a flag and the one I'm right next to is being taken, or to go repair something when and I'm SpecOps.

i dunno how, but several commanders speak so well, u know instantly that their are the authority...up to you ti become a good commander. As for those players..they gotta learn to use good sense..this game is realistic: no team work, no wins..

If its a Squadleader and not just an imbecile,
in 9 times out of 10 he know what he has to do.
No need for orders, but from time to time the
Commander has to give some orders.
And if the SL dont follows them he is
not competent enough to be a SL.
S@K is a good example.
Most people just go for the first flag,
when they recognize that their are some
other to capture and try it, its too late...

A few days ago the usual Karkand Hotel clusterfuck was happening, so a couple of us managed an end run and got to the gatehouse, turned the flag and started taking out assets.  We received no support from the other 30 on USMC (despite asking for it...)  and could not hold it by ourselves for long. We asked why no one would leave the Hotel and come help...

Here's the n00b answer that we got....

"Cuz it's the main flag"

As far as I can see, the only strategic value that flag holds is to keep the USMC troops focused  there and keep them from capping other flags! Yes, some need to stay there and keep the MEC from getting into the US main and C4ing things or stealing rides, but that is NOT the main point to capture. It is far better to get behind the MEC, stop the drain quickly, and then attack them on different fronts.

An efficient commander with squads that will listen can wreak havoc this way, whether it is the suburb flag, square, or somewhere else.. Divide and conquer folks

In fact it is the only way to win a round as USMC.

Come to the 44 person 24/7 Karkand server run by the BoM clan. Play on our side and please have a headset. We win often as MEC as well, even when many switch to the U.S. for some reason.

I command A LOT. check the hours. I can't recall the last time I lost as USMC when commanding. Usually our regulars have a headset and know to get on our team asap.

edit: there's some stoners playing with karma again lol
