ET:QW looks very fine to me and John Karmack knows how to code. I do not expect half that many bugs and shit as BF2 has, cause Doom 3 engine is very stable and seems to be capable of drawing nice open spaces. I like the maps and the whole style in Enemy Territory better than in BF2142.
The action seems to be more intense and there's enough vehicles for everyone.
@Quake 3/4 bashers: Quake 3/4 are serious games imo, just because there's so many championships held in these games. Show me one serious international BF2 event, if you can, and I will show you tens of such where Quake games are played. With huge, I mean huge $$$ prizes.

Both games will have demo versions available before release (including a beta test phase for 2142). Why is it that so many people here have already determined that one or the other completely sucks and will only be playing one of them based on PURE SPECULATION? Let's face it, you can read all you want and watch all the video you want. The fact remains that until you actually experience both of them you will never really be able to make an informed decision.
Play both demos. Make an informed choice at that time. Anything else is just mental masturbation. Drawing lines and choosing sides before even playing ONE of them is just moronic (but then this IS bf2s forums, I would expect nothing less).

everyone knows netcode for all Quake series rocks, so graphical and gameplay wise yes quake wars will be the winner.... even though i don't like disco lasers Im sure there will be planty of mods with bf2 like capabilities and of course the glory of Q engine
