BF2S Forums Armored Fury: load of shit

lol every time I say EA needs to fix BF2 before they release a new booster pack I get flamed. Try playing some of the mod's being made by about 10 kids total. They absolutely own anything that EA is turning out.

I think I can help you guys.  What exactly happens in the crashes?

If it crashes to desktop, theres a fix for that for Windows users.

no its not a simple crash to the desktop...its an entire computer lockup. The strange thing is that it only happens about 25% of the time. I never had this litte bitch of a problem before i downloaded armored fury.

Mine crashes to desktop 25% of the time either when I am about to join server after the loading thing or in middle of game.

Sounds more like a problem with your system or pebkac...

yeah i get the sys lock too. wierd thing is vent/ts still works fine.

Like USi.

USi is THE best mod for the game. It absolutely owns anything that EA and dice can make. Sad I play that mod more then the game now

It sure helped out this Pebkac.

I had the same problem with the system lock, only happened for me on Operation Harvest.  Turns out I had out of date drivers for my (Nvidia) graphics card, updated those and I've had no problem.  Solved it for one of my buddies as well.

Anyway, here's a copy of their response with the instructions on how to find out what version drivers you have and how to update them should you not know.  For Nvidia cards only, but I expect the others are similar steps.  For some reason xfire and similar programs didn't auto download this update.

Thank you for contacting us here at Electronic Arts Technical Support. I’m sorry for the difficulty that you are having with Battlefield 2 Armoured Fury.

This issue occurs when you don't have the latest video card drivers. It is recommended that you keep your video card drivers up to date to prevent these issues.

· Go to: http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp
· There you will see three boxes. In the first box, Choose "Graphics Driver".
· In the second box, choose the type of Video card you have. Choose GeForce and TNT2.
· In the third box, choose your Operating System (Windows XP), and click "Go!".
· Click on the "» Primary Download Site «".
· Read the LICENSE AGREEMENT and click "Accept".

It should then prompt you to begin the download. Be mindful of any additional Install or download instructions that Nvidia recommends.

To check if you have successfully updated your video card driver:

1. Go to "Start".
2. Go to "Run" and type "dxdiag".
3. Go to the "Display" tab and look under "Drivers".

Make sure that the "Version:" is x.xx.xxxx.8421 (the x is the value of your video card version).

sounds to me like outdated drivers, or a faulty video card, try checking that, running a benchmarking utility, or something like that

woah woah woah  its easier than that hold on ill post a link   http://forums.bf2s.com/viewtopic.php?id=28412 theres the forum with it, click the link, disable virus protetction things, download the event id patcher, then run it, then u can enable virus protection it has worked for me!
