I know its a laptop but is has worked on medium graphics settings, until I started playing AF.  The graphics card is a ATI MOBILITY RADEON X600 which according to EAsy info the conpatability is unkown.  About 1/4 of the time when i load maps it crashes to the desktop.  So yea is there anyway i can improve the performance of my laptop or are there parts I can buy?  Any help would be apreciated.

video memory looks weak.  and i dont think you can upgrade that.  1gb is fine, but 1.5 is better.  my 2 cents

It's a Hypermemory video card, that means it takes memory from your system memory when it needs it. Yeah, perhaps upgrading your system memory works.

It will run, but don't expect to be able to turn on many options on it.  I play on my dell which has a MR 9600 Pro Turbo, and I get playable frame rates at 1024x768, low textures.

U need for a GOOD gaming experience minimum a notebook with a 6800 or x800 graphiccard family... maybe 6600 is ok too... (no x700 - too weak) But keep in mind that the manufacturer got many designations for their
video cards, which delude the customers. E.g. --> hypermemory...

The cpu is overpowered --> makes ur notebook more expensive without any performance edge

Getting more than 128mb of Video Ram(On a good GPU) is gonna put the rice range way above the gateway he linked.

*WARNING* I own a gamimng laptop if for any reason you want to upgrade you have to buy a new motherboard no matters what. You need a new mobo if you want new ram a new vid card. Laptops arn't ment to be improved. I own a gaming laptop a dell xps i need to spend 2,000 more just to add a new video card.

True "Gaming" laptops are indeeed upgradeable...  I dont care what dell calls their laptop....  It a decent laptop..  But not a true Gamer......

That being said.. Your NOT going to get a Real upgradeable gaming laptop under 2 grand...  Closer to 3k

Yup. gaming laptops aren't cheap and you will NOT be happy with an x600. Sorry I couldn't have told you that earlier
