Well I do like all the maps...
Midnight is my least favorite since without very good teamplay you get owned...

Harvest is my fav.

My stats are dropping like flies because of the lack of knowledge on these maps... But hey who cases... as long as I'm having fun.

The little bird is pissing me off... some guys are too good with that thing... As infantery I don't stand a chance... the only way to counter is to put all your fire on that chop.

And I keep getting killed by it when in the other chopper... There is no running from it, so the only way is engaging and hoping for the best...

So I'm having a lot of fun getting to know the new maps and vehicles... Am learning some stuff again, instead of just running the same ol routine that gets you the win.

On harvest the way to win as MEC is not to loose your homebase and outcap the other team, because you need the ticket bleed to win this map. It's the only way to make up for the fact that you have to put one or two guys on homedefence (but usually those get some easy kills off off the jeeprushes on that flag). Als keeping those enemy choppers down will help a lot. Keep all of the flags on your half of the river +1 on the other side and you will win this one...

Harvest is my Fav.

For all three maps you have to employ AA for what it's there for for - AA.  No stat-padding mowing down the infantry with it.  Within a couple of days I earned Vet then Expert AA badge - hey I know its easier now...

Driving the AA you need to think 'Location, Location, Location' - no capping flags!  Also man the Stingers when you can.  This applies to both MEC and USMC.

All in all - I love the new Expansion.  Don't usually play Armour, and wasn't enamored by Op Smoke Screen, but this new expansion rocks.

great booster. All the maps are fairly well balanced, the scout choppers are fun and also provide extra UAV, which is nice.

If you don't like tank battles, you won't have much fun though.

Open-Range tank fighting like you haven't seen before, yay...

On Harvest, you need to move quickly and try to outcap the enemy, as has been said before. Not much use in walking here. Use transport, and hide when the heavy machinery rolls along. AT and Engineers ftw. No other class is really needed. Because of the open spaces, flanking manouvers can be pulled off easily though.

Road Rage is a different story. Not much room off the main road, and the number of CP's is quite limited. Flanking manouvers on foot or via light transport can easily be located and countered with those nasty scout choppers, which can get around on the map very fast and are very effective against infantry and light transport, especially because of the integrated UAV.. Armored support is crucial, as well as a strong defense and good pilots to stop enemy armored convoys.
In the end, it's all about the central flag on the overpass. If you have it, the enemies' tickets will drain, if you don't yours will.
Midnight sun reminded me a little bit of Fushe Pass. Because of the slight darkness and the rugged terrain, this map is a little easier on infantry, as it is harder for the armored vehicles to spot targets. Also, the CP's are a lot closer together, so you can actually get somewhere on foot. Thus, infantry fighting will be more intense. Unfortunately, this makes Midnight Sun also the most sniper-infested maps of the three.
Teamwork is essential here, as the number of possible river crossings is limited.

Summary: a lot better than EF. AF maps are sure to find their way into standard mapcycles.

I agree with all. I like the maps. My favourite is probably the midnight one. All these maps are an anti tank dream. All you need to do is sit back and hide at a base with a couple of team mates and sooner rather than later some armor or jeeps role in. One guy on tow, one or two on anti-tank and you will have a field day. I went 18-3 kdr just sitting on a tow the other day. All to easy.

However, due to the very reason above, it makes it exceedingly difficult to take bases if you need to attack even against a poorly organised squad. A couple of sneaky anti tanks and your in a world of hurt.
