my cousin got a new computer and his videocard is 64mb is there any way to get this to work with bf2 because he doesn't want to buy new stuff for a new computer.
even at low settings he should face massive lag and bad performance I guess - I wouldnt try it
Heard of people who have. But even if it does work, it would be unplayable.
buy him a cheep 128 mb or make him it will cost less than the game will
he doesnt want to spend any money. he thinks that since he bought a new computer every game should work on it. i showed him some cards he could get but he said he is just gonna sell bf2.
i tried it on my pc u get to the account server and then it just ctd
You have to learn the rules of the game and then you have to play better than anyone else.
a 62 mb will not work. minimum should be atleast 128 mbs for bf2 to start up and runn on low settings. i gor 2 nvidia geforce 6800 gt (256 mbs each). it also depends on ur ram. the only mistake i made was buying only 1 Gb of ram. i get some video lag and hicups here and there. ever since patch 1.3, its been worse. if u wanna go better than normal, go 4 1.5 GB. if u wanna go like perfect, 2 GBs is wat ur looking for.
He "just" bought a computer with a 64 mb card?
Can I burrow your time machine?

64mb? Man, I bet its onboard video too. He is screwed if it is.
It's really not so hard to buy something cheap that works with BF2. Show him some deals on Newegg and maybe he'll reconsider, if not then he just won't be able to play it because he's too scared to pay another $50-75. This would even work for BF2, a PCI (Not PCI-e, you heard right, PCI) graphics card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6814103167

It sounds like he either bought a used computer, which probably puts him out of the running to play BF2 regardless of the videocard. Or, he bought a super low end computer which might only have 64 megs of on board memory for the video. Even crappy computers that come with video cards come with more than 64 megs. Tell him to give up and to start enjoying minesweeper.
Me thinks its a dell
I use to play on a ATi 8500 64mb card, it works, just looks really shit.

Yes it can work.I'm using a Sony viao vgn a197xp laptop these in the UK came with an Ati 9700 whatever with 64 meg of on board ram. When i first loaded battlefield i was expecting a trip straight back to the shop but i run it with textures and graphic on med and lighting on low and totally enjoy it.
When the first round starts i get stutter for 5 Min's but after that its all smoooth. This machine has 1meg of ram so i would say thats essential to take the strain off the graphics card

Well, ur cousin's gotta understand that not ANY computer is a gaming computer; gaming computers are way more demanding than ordinary desktops. Take my case for example, I've got a 128 Mb Video card and I'm still having lag problems and glitches here and there. If he wants to play like a pro, or play without any problems at all, he should get a 256 Mb from the beginning. That's my advice.

yup it is a dell. he got a cheap one the only thing that wont allow it to play bf2 is the onboard video which is 64 mb.ill tell him about the card you found, j5689, good it is PCI too because his machine only has 3 PCI slots.rustynutz wrote:

Trust me man, spend the money to get a half decent card. Your gameplay will suffer immensly, I being a moron when i bought this game attempted it and failed, for a while i would not even load.
If he does get the game to actually run on it, he won't enjoy it all and you wont even know you wer bign shot at until you til the ground.
Basically, get a better card and you will be happy!

Getting a new card won't make a difference if the rest of the computer is shit.
he said the only thing is his video card but im guessing it is all shit or bare minimumcablecopulate wrote:
