I would think being able to touch type might give an advantage
I m a singer does it count? check my sig for free sample
Im leanrign to play the bass guitar n ive foudn it quite easy to learn and if you look at my stats they arent too bad so i think its got sumfing valid to do wid it..!
I play Alto Sax...My stats are pretty good...meh.
i play trumpet. it does not help me at all play BF2. just look at my stats it shows
I've been a pianist for 14 years, and the added hand-eye coordination really helps when I have to deliver a lot of commands to a program or game via hotkeys or key commands. Good amount of endurance, as well!
I think that playing an instrument will not help you. I think that if you know the keyboard layout you can be better. Also, it is mostly about reaction, not how cordinated you are. If you are quicker to react, the less you will get shoot/die.
Interesting topic. I play the piano. I mostly play Chopin, and some of his more difficult pieces. And I own in BF2. Finger coordination is definately a + in this game. Maybe there's something to it.
I'm good with bf2 and I used to play the sax for like 4 or 5 years when I was younger...
Now I'm just a gamer.

Yeah, its because religion is the most abstract but respected gray area of life.Marconius wrote:

I play the guitar and I can shred (not as fast as malmsteen yet), I'm also a goalkeeper and renowed for my great relfex saves and reactions.
However, I'm still shit at bf2.
So, no.

i don'tget how playing the drums makes you better at bombing the wake carrier...Madhadda1 wrote:
i play the drums so look at my stats and see for your self i think you have a good point though
I don't play an instrument and I consider myself good... at spawn-raping on Karkand with the APC.
I do not play any instrument, but I'm pretty good with my hands though! Just ask my girlfriend!
i play guitar, piano and sang(until recently)in a band and im pretty shit at bf2. make what you will of that!
no way does it help you, there completely unrelated. ive played piano since i was 9 and all kinds of guitars since my early teens and have numerous musicial qualifications, and it makes no difference to how i play games, music and first person shooters are nothing alike
I play Guitar, Drums, Bass, Piano/Synth, Vox, Pan-Pipes, Violin and a note or two on the Flute. I'm pretty average at the game, so I don't think it makes a difference. You do tend to tap irritably on the keyboard when waiting to respawn though.
Edit: Sa¢ripan... that was AWFUL! GAH!

Trombone FTW!!!
Yes, that is in fact me playing a trombone in a bookstore.
I also sing, fake the guitar every so often, and bang the occasional drum. Here are a couple of my acoustic songs, be gentle with the critiquing if you please, I know I suck. And the song that plays in the background here is me at the piano, which I have recently started again after...what was it, like 9 years of no playing?
I'm not sure if my musical background helps at all with BF2. I'm OK at infantry, and I shudder to think how hard I'd blow if music did have a positive effect and I didn't play all those instruments.

I play the clarinet. You need good hand-eye coordination when sight reading.G3157 wrote:

Mcminty.
No instruments but heavy on sports, soccer, squash and tennis...
i play trumpet, bass guitar and flute--->(don't make fun!...please)
i can play a couple on songs on piano but dont take lessons for it.

well you be the judge of me being any 'good' at the game, I just play fair...Kaosdad008 wrote:
1) If you are good at this game, do you also play an instrument?
and yes I play musical instruments:
- Guitar, (Acoustic: Western, Spanish. Electric)
- Keyboard/piano
- Bass
- Ukulele (lol omg wtf?!!?!) -_- yea I play ukulele, because it rocks! thats why!
Eye-hand coordination is the accuracy with thich your brain can relate spatial information from your eyes to your body and translate that into accurate manual motions as a reaction to things you see. People with bad eye-hand coordination are those kids that get hit in the face with baseballs when they put up their glove.mcminty wrote:

Reading sheet music and playing it is a measure of learned comprehension of musical notes(something I've never learned to do) and plan old manual dexterity. You can very easily play a clarinet with your eyes closed. Unless you are trying to hit moving sheet music with your clarinet...
Please, I said sight reading. What I ment is that to sight read, you need to be able to coordinate your eyes and your fingers.G3157 wrote:

What good is being able to read the music, but not being able to play it?
What good is being able to play a fast passage, but not being able to read it?
None.
