the best way to get these two badges now that the reqs have changed is to sit in either a stinger site or the aircraft air defence system for air or a tow or mounted MG and command. The arty kills still count as kills and since your getting kills while in a air or ground defence weapon it counts toward the badge. urban maps like karkland and Mashtuur are best for racking up arty kills.

Wake works really well too. US commander for air defense - sit in the foreward (furthest away from spawn) essex gun, point away from the island and down at the deck (so you don't lock on while on the commander screen and a J-10 flies by) then just arty the crap out of everything. Chinese commander for ground defense, sit on one of the machine guns in the towers, you can't be hit by arty or cars and you can artillery arty island, or the carrier if it's allowed. Just do whatever you can to get those artillery kills!
