Please tell me how i go on getting the basic knife and pistol badges. Someone said 64 playler karkand, but i still see it to be rather difficult to knife someone with a gun. Hence the term "don't bring a knife to a gunfight" any other advice on getting it? I need it to advance to my next rank.

Use your pistol for the pistol badge and your knife for the knife badge.

Shoot someone once with a sniper rifle and then whip out ur pistol and kill them.

40-50 players warlord server that has 40 to 50 people in it. I got my expert knife badge pre 1.2 doing that
(and no it wasnt a knife/pistol only server)
basically, spawn as SAS, parachute to the tv station and jump/hop around like a mad man and camp in that little guard shack, i found it easy

for pistol, just use a pistol the whole round, or damage an enemy with your primary weapon then switch to pistol to finish them off, im going for expert pistol right now (18 kills IAR)

Go assault on Warlord and throw flashbangs around in the palace, usually people go prone and don't do anything...easy kills with either weapon. 7 IAR isn't hard for the pistol in any game on any map really. A lot of it is just knowing where and when to position yourself to get behind people so you're not trying to pistol a PKM'er face to face.
spawn rape with a pistal or like others have said just use ur pistol all round
actually go to a server that only has a about 20 people on that that are playing a 64 man city map. plently of time to get your 7 kills. Might i suggest the FAF clan server
No, 64/20 people servers are bad, everyone is nearly always in a tank/vehicle
I would say, step back from the excitement of the round, and use spectator mode to follow players
See where the common choke points are, common tactics, unused paths ect
Then next round, go in and give it your all
For pistol I recommend putting a tiny piece of bluetak on the middle of the screen [Use the sniper, zoom in, place bluetak] zoom out, then do whatever
Another tactic is to use your sniper rifle, [The bolt action ones] hit the enemy in the torso, then whip to pistol
My final piece of advice is, although rounds go faster, play on servers that have a 32 player map, with more people than 32, My favourite server so far is this Gamearena server, 64 people on kakand 32, its chaos, easy knife and pistol kills, and rounds arnt that fast as you think
Its a good server because it forces people into actually doing something
