BF2S Forums Team Vehicle Damage - How the smeg does that work

I've been wondering about the same thing.  Seems to happen to me alot.

if 2 team vehicles collide and get dammaged they both get Team dammage. 
if a vehicle collides into a tank/apc and gets dammaged, but the tank/apc does not.  The tank/apc driver gets the penalty.
Anything full speed into a tank will explode on impact, even APCs, and Tank driver will get a TK.

It's pretty fucked up.

Basically, the more robust vehicle will take less damage, so it's designated as the "damager", and gets the penalty.  Since these tougher vehicles are generally the slow, non-maneuverable ones like Tanks and APCs, you get shafted.

For example, you're in a tank.  You're plodding along at the M1A2's apparent top speed of 3 miles per hour, when some imbecile in a DPV comes racing up behind you and manages to NOT see the sixty tons of armour ahead of him.  He ploughs into the back of you.  He explodes all over the place, you get a dented rear bumper.  But, since you did much more damage to him, YOU'RE the one who gets the negative points for team vehicle damage and team-kill.

Not long ago, I was in a tank on Midnight Sun.  Some spaz in a Little Bird tried swooping in low and flew straight into me.  There was a big explosion, and not only did I die, but I was given a Teamkill for the crash.  AND THEN I GOT PUNISHED TOO.  That's how it works, see?

Sitting in a tank capping a flag on dragon valley. TRansport chopper decides he wants to cap assist. He sits on me, we both blow up and I get a tk, team vehicle damage, and a suicide. I dont cap in vehicles anymore.
