Really dumb question but when you configure a joystick to fly a chopper, what do action do you put on each axis?

I presumed that turn left and right should be on the twist/rudder control (Saitek Evo), and twist (like the mouse) left and right should go on the left/right axis.  Is this right or is it the other way around????

Yeah, thats how it normally is, but put it any which way you want, as long as you can fly good with it.

the way i have it is:
forwards/back: pull pu/down
right/left: right/left bank
twist: turn right left
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

Just go with whatever feels fine for you. If you want to invert all the controls and stick the mouse to the underside of your desk and that works for you then go for it. If your killing stuff nobody will complain.
