I hate the SVD, that's why the M95 was the second unlock I got I got some experience with it in the demo, but it seems to have changed a bit That's the reason I didn't start as sniper right away, it's different then I'm used to... and I'm the sort of guy that likes to stick with the good old stuff... I know this is a huge weakness and I'm trying to change it...xX[Elangbam]Xx wrote:
you're not a good sniper if you're not versatile. It takes more skill to kill with the Typ88 and the SVD to kill with the L96 or the M24
one last question before I go get that sniper rifle and expert knife badge: do I have to get up a rank while playing sf to get the sf unlocks, or is it enough that I have played a bit on sf and then if I rank up while playing ordinary bf I can choose the sf unlocks?

Yes, the l96 truly is a great gun. I use it all the time, If only it were armor piercing. It's so freakin accurate.
As soon as you play a single round in SF where you score a point once you quit and log back in the tier-two unlocks will be available to you so yeah, go for it. Although I have a new-found respect for the M95 (and I freakin' love the M24 again!) the L96A1 is superb and being slightly quieter it will help you not to be located quite so easily at time.kmjnhb wrote:
I'll see if I can get the L96 today when I get home, if I get it I will try to get into sniping again
Why's that? My SPM playing purely as sniper is the same as his is curently and I can keep it above 2 fairly easily if I have a bit of luck (right type of flow in the game) and I'm playing my A game. Now that may not be that high an SPM but for infantry I think it's pretty okay.MoonShadow616 wrote:

ok, thanks for the replies, in a couple of hours I will have time to play some bf... My usual gaming time is from 11pm to 7am (GMT+1)... work, school and sleep take up the rest of my day
no, please...... dont start sniping, no one start sniping, theres enough of them polluting every server already.

It won't go through the floor if you know what you're doing... my score per minute has only risen to 2.36 ever since I have been sniping. It hasn't dropped at all. Also, don't be afraid to try out the M95, it barely has any bullet drop and you only have to lead your target a tiny bit. It also takes all kits down to 2 bars, so that you can finish them off with your pistol if you get into some close range combat. The L96A1 is a good gun but its preference, I actually prefer the M95 over it, unless I'm sniping over 350 meters.MoonShadow616 wrote:

yea become a sniper and then join the uber "snipers community" YAY
GET the L96 is ROCKS. Also before you go sniping try and get your basic badges so you can get 1Sgt and Sgt Major without worryingkmjnhb wrote:
before I got the full bf2 I played the demo for some time, there I mostly played as sniper and got a fairly good at it... but when I got the full game I couldn't really get into it again, mostly just play as medic... my question is, should I start getting into sniping now? or should I wait until I get the L96A1? (I bought sf yesterday) I have picked it up a couple of times and I love it!!
Btw L96A1 has a considerable bulletdrop, and M95 doesn't have one at all after 1.2 patch. But the problem is that the sights on M95 are the worst shit ever.
If you get veteran or expert badges before you get to 20k, do you still get First Sergeant? I suppose you do, but want to be sureN)!(NDarkDragon wrote:

Hehe, my SPM sniping the last week is 2.0, with brief periods where it's been 2.5+, and there are plenty people out there with better reflexes and aim than I have.Cbass wrote:

I've also (yesterday) started sniping. So far I am fairly rubbish, and I don't even have basic sniper because I am trying to get it by sniping instead of sitting in a tank or commanding. I have always been of the opinion that sniping is rather slow and the antithesis of team play, as I have seen so many snipers appearing to contribute so little to their team's success. However, after creeping round Karkand for a couple of rounds I am starting to really enjoy the completely different game-play. Crawling around trying to head-shot the enemy is so different to my usual style of play that it is like being in a different game. I've enjoyed working my way around the kits, starting as a medic like we all do, then going for assault because of the fun of the G3, engineer to armour whore, working on my helicopter skills, then AT because I unlocked the DAO. Now perhaps I'll take up sniping for a while. I love this game and am totally addicted to it because of the huge variety out there.
Hope to see you out there on the wrong end of my L96A1.

Cheers - I shall go take a look now.
Sniper Community is quite a change - someone posts about sniping and is responded to without a million responses ranting about how crap snipers are. Refreshing!
You mean go through the roof.MoonShadow616 wrote:

Don't worry, it'll come. My accuracy for this account was only 36% when I started dedicating myself to sniping and it's much higher now. In fact I've just had two very good days and I'm currently running at nearly 59% which I can barely believe.BigBunny wrote:

Yes, that is unfortunately quite common. You can't just run directly into the face of the enemy all the time and expect to make a difference... being unarmoured and using a single-shot gun... but you don't exactly have to camp on a rooftop for a whole round and get a measly 9 kills.BigBunny wrote:

I can't tell you the number of snipers I pass by day after day as I go to cap or defend a flag, or move to where the action is, who just won't budge unless they're killed. Nobody playing like that is ever going to get rounds where they score 60-80.
Not that high for me but it sure climbed compared with using other kits (admittedly because I'm fairly crap at the other kits).Nyte wrote:

Oh the shame - I was MEC on Karkand and had got up to 9 kills with the rifle, BUT............it was getting near the end................ they were close to taking our base................. the T90 spawned beside me............. so I got in and blasted some hapless marine to pieces to get the badge. I did get one kill with the rifle afterwards, but I felt I had let myselft down there. However as a team player it was my duty to contribute my maximum effort for the team instead of the badge.
Do you snipe often? Because from your comment to the bulletdrop factor it doesn't look like itTodd_Angelo wrote:
