Since when is this the best way to get a ride?

This happens to much. Someone wants a ride and instead of asking they shoot you? Do you really think I'm going to stop if you shoot me?

Or they ask for the ride and start to shoot you before you get a chance to stop.

Today on Kubra dam im working my ass off defending the mec main, i'm U.S.A. I was top guy on my team, with most kills and flag defends. i grab a jeep, start to head out to blow there radar / uav and some guy asked for a ride, before i was able to take the 2 seconds to look at my radar if the guy asking is near me i get shot down to half health. I'm already frustrated with my team and now there killing me for not stopping the very momment he asked for a ride. i continue the 20 feet to the mec radar to blow it up.. plant my c4 blow it up jump in my jeep. the guy that shot me down to half health jumps in my jeep. i jump out and kill him..

he says

"what the hell bobroonie".

i reply

"you want a ride ask for one, you shoot me im going to kill you".

His death probaly wasn't justified, im just sick of dumbass doing dumbass shit. This happens all the damn time. people want rides and they shoot you if your taking off with out them.. and before the flames of taking a jeep with only 1 person starts.. have any of you ever thought the guy driving is the squad leader and the other 2 squad guys are going to spawn on him while he's driving, thus keeping a squad togethor.

Heh, I'm thinkin' real life here though, not BF2. Shooting a car to get a ride IRL is like smackin' a chick to get some ass. It never works out like you planned.

It's a damn good thing that most of those hitchikers on the freeway aren't packing heat or we would all be sportin' some fender damage.....and perhaps a rap sheet for roadkills....

Ive never been shot at (directly), but sometimes people are concentrating on the action and dont realise someone is calling out for a ride. If they hear bullets hitting their vehicle, they usually snap back and realise what's going on. If someone doesnt pick me up, I always assume first and foremost that they simply arent giving that part of the screen / sounded request attention and pinging the vehicle with a few harmless shots does the trick... but shooting AT the driver? Plain disrespectful and unproductive. I would have put the insolent prick down myself after he pulled that shit on me Bob. Well done.

Haha, that made me laugh.

I'll give people a ride if they're not a mile away. If I'm in a hurry and they aren't like..within 10 feet, they can catch their own ride. Since it'll probally be a n00b, he'll probally in some-way get me killed anyways.

I feel your pain. I was once on sharqi at the beginning of the round going for the MEC chopper. I was pilot, another was gunner. As soon as we take off some idiot shoots an AT round right at our chopper so we have less than half our health. On top of that, the enemy chopper appears trying to get rid of us. My gunner who didn't thought about using a TV missile was doing nothing, not even using his gun on the enemy chopper, so I had to try and kill him on my own. I got him smoking but as I lost so many health at the beginning, we got shot down.
Sad part is that that fool got what he wanted cause I didn't spawned again at the mec helipad but went owning on foot.

Second story. I take the apc on kark, without asking for a ride, some bigass shoots an AT rocket in my apc. So as I was engeneer, I got out to repair while standing in front of it so the noob wouldn't take it to ride away. Well I was wrong, he took the apc and instead of going backwards to avoid me, he runs over me. Then he started to complain when I punished him. I switched teams (I never intentionally teamkill) and owned him the rest of the round. When I got him 8 times in a row, he left the server. If only he had asked for a ride... or even the apc, when I'm in a good mood, I even give it away, especially when he is engeneer and I'm not.

So yeah I feel your pain, and I hope some people will grow up, or some admins notice it.

Quite a while ago, someone tried to get a ride by shooting me with an ERYX. Needless to say I wasn't giving him any rides for the rest of that round.

yeah when i shoot ususlay its because they dont stop i wait like a minute but if they keep going like if its just a transport heli and a pilot and they just keep going i get like mad but thats usualy it

I shoot at vehicles that don't pick me up when I'm requesting it (usually the MEC/PLA requests get ignored) so i'll pull out my pistol and shoot at them a few times. sometimes they notice and actually pick me up

I shot if they don't give me a chance to get in after asking for a ride. Shouldn't need to in most situations though. It's not difficult to look at your radar for 1/4 second to see if any friendlies are running towards you for a pick up.

yea i try and get people most of the time.. Somtimes im on a mission and dont want anyone with me, ie destroying arty / uav / radar.. i dont need someone taking the jeep when im at the radar.. or i have squad guys spawning on me so i need the 2 seats.. But if i get shot at.. for get it, no ride. I wont pick up any friendly that shots at me..

I'm sick of being shot at by my own teamates.. I dont try and tk for anything but i can only take so much.. Just the other day i was in a tank, another friendly tank drove by me and we kinda got bottle necked inbetween buildings.. he turns his turret and shoots me.. i wait and see if i get the "sorry"... nothing.. fine i jump out c4 his tank drive off in my tank, jump out and blow him up.. You might as well finish me off, taking half my life and sending me on my way is fucked up enough..

I always give rides if i can. But i don't shoot at someone if they drive away, thats what "hey i need a ride" is for. I get shot at more flying the attack choppers. i usually have a gunner and people still ask for rides. ill give a "negative" and keep going. Some idiots still feel the need to take shots at the chopper even though i can't give a ride. It makes me want to fly into the ground on purpose just to give that asshat the 2 tk's. But i don't

I have a strong suspicion that there are a lot of players that don't know about the commo rose. I'm embarrassed to admit it but I didn't know about it for the first month or more of playing. I also didn't realise you could call for a medic when you died until quite recently... missed that bloody tip, probably during an artie strike or something!

I usually let off the gas while I'm looking at the radar. If I see a flashy dot, I back'er up. No one ever joins my squads, so I never have to worry about squad members spawning in my jeep.
