After downloading the battlefield 2 demo from download.com, I had noticed the game started to lock up and play a repeating sound whilst unable to Ctrl Alt Delete so I had to re-boot manually. This happened on single player and the demo's online maps too. I thought it must be a problem with the demo and decided to purchase the full game. After having no luck with the full game either with the same problem occouring, I decided to install the latest drivers from nvidia.com but on installing the driver, I was told it had not passed WINDOWS LOGO TESTING but decided to carry on with the installation. However, this did not solve the problem. I then downloaded the latest Patch (1.3 I think or something) and still the problem continued. I had no luck on Internet forums and became increasingly frustrated as I have an IDENTICAL PC downstairs which runs it smoothly with no problems...SO I REALLY NEED HELP PLEASE!

My System Specs Are As Follows;

. Packard Bell Pentium 4 CPU 3.06 GHz
. Windows Xp Service Pack 2
. 1.00 GB of RAM
. Nvidia GeForce 6200 Le

ALL HELP WILL BE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!

Thanks again

make sure that you really clean your system from all old drivers (nvidia and alike) check for a driver uninstallation tool  (google a bit I just forgot the name it's driver cleaner or something) and after that reinstall the most up to date drivers for your system. make sure, you get the right windows drivers. there should be some that pass the windows logo test.

after that try reinstalling bf2

I hope that works!

I get the same "windows logo test" warning when installing drivers but bf2 still works well

But this might help

If the game locks up with a sound loop this can often be caused by a conflict with the sound card.  Often the sound card's hardware acceleration must be adjusted to communicate properly with the game.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

   1. In this case it will be necessary to lower the system's sound hardware acceleration to Basic.
          * Click here for steps on adjusting sound hardware acceleration.

   2. Additionally it is important to ensure that all background tasks have been ended.  Applications running in
the background can result in random lockups occurring within the game.
          * Click here for steps on ending background tasks.

   3. After all background tasks have been ended it is advisable to empty the Windows Temp folder.
          * Click here for steps on emptying your Temp folder.

   4. Also please make sure you have the latest patch installed.  You can downloade the "full" version of the
   patch from:
