when i double click on the bf2 icon it the bf2 pic comes up then a black screen for about 2 minutes and then the logo things come up, does anyonw know how to get rid of the black screen for 2 minutes.
do you have autologin enabled or have you removed the sart up movies?

no not autologin and i havent disabled the start up moves, the black screen appears before the start up movies
could be a lot of things I guess.... when did you reinstall bf last time? cause (weird enough) this solves many problems for this game
when patch 1.3 came out, becasue every time i install that latest patch, i load up bf2 and there is no background icons are blue and the game doens't work so i have to reinstall but ever since i got the game it has always done the black screen thing for 2 minutes.
hmm then maybe try a fresh reinstall with the full patch - hope that solves it

i have the full 1.3 patch and it is corupt, not downloading it again because then it took 2 hrs to get the 8%overall and then did nothing for the next 4hrs.
maybe try another source for the dl or dl it overnight?
