Where and what do you type in to see in game Frames Per Second?

Open console => Type in "renderer.drawfps 1" (without quotes)
voila, the fps will show up in the upper left corner.
A better and simplier way: download fraps and start it before entering game.

Fraps doen't seem to work on BF2 for me...any ideas?

No, because I'm afraid from lag, but I put it on on call of duty... except of seing the fps u can make a movie of u playing but it weights alot

Also, if you want to reduce the size of the movie made with fraps, download virtualdub and the latest DivX encoder, and Virtualdub can save it as an .avi that is about 1/3 the size of the original.

I've used fraps or at lest the console you mentioned from above. Works great for testing new video settings etc.
My question is when you get the numbers what does the right number mean???
EG
70.6 / 22.4
70.6 - THe frame rate at that specific time
