Round started last night, I crept up on some guy, pulled my blade on him, I had a feeling I hit him but he runs, throws ammo at me, then blasts me with his PKM as I'm trying to get close enough to knife him again.


I die, as I respawn a message comes up saying "Kill assist damage".  I must of had that with the knife as I hadn't laid, fire or chucked anything at anyone when the round started.

Anyone else ever had this?

I must of scratched him in the back with my knife.

Note to myself: Must sharpen that blade.

nope. shame, thouhg. mind,If I wasknifed, I'd ahve pulled on my gas mask, and spammed tear gas and THEN finally machine gun the person.

Sorry for not saying before but even you would have trouble doing that in Karkand.

Yes its happened to me a few times.

the Knife isn't always a one hit kill, especially if its not the torso you hit, so you sometimes have to stab em twice.

happened to me one night ii got board and thought ill go knifing and it happend to at least 4 time in a round but i was still happy i got 14 kills

Yeah, it seems that knives only do half damage now.  It's kinda stupid because it's hard enough to get knife kills.

No, it's always a one-hit kill....that is, if you hit them. Usually I have to knife a guy 4 - 5 times before he dies. I can see dust and a gory 'knife through gut' sound, but it doesn't register the hit.

Battlefield 2 has MAJOR collision mesh errors.

No Bob m8, the round had started and I made my way without laying clays or chucking grenades, it could of only come from a knife.

Bloody weird and annoying though.  Like someone has mentioned it's hard enough regestering a kill with a knife as it is. LOL What dosen't help is after the support guy finished chucking his ammo at me as fast as he could, whilst preforing the "reverse bunnyhop" he PKM'd me knowing full well I was trying to give him some "slice n dice".  I've done the same when almost knifed so I would never dream of flaming the guy during game.
