B)  Look like the Hollywood action movie scene it should be and run to the break, JUMPING at the last second, pretending that you dive into a combat roll away from the heat.

C) Charge head on at the tanks with your pistol only, in the hope that they will all scatter coz this maniac is coming at them.... Never ACTUALLY worked for me, but I die with the satisfaction that the tank commander is scratching his head (or balls probably) saying wtf is this idiot doing?

I sometimes will jump off a building and commit suicide if I am sniper and out of ammo while another sniper has found me and is shooting at me.  I'd rather kill myself than get owned by him.  Then when I respawn I know where he is and I get the points. If I survive my fall I run around fearlessly with my pistol until I get mowed down.  I just hate when I get killed when I have one bar of health and some guy thought he was soooo good.
