Type 88 VS L96A1

I have just discovered that the L96A1 and Type88 possess nearly the same accuracy as each other as well as the same "thin" reticule when zooming in.

I pulled off some 350m shots today on Wake using this underdog weapon against L96A1 users and it worked wonders.

Similarities:
-Same reticule size.
-Same accuracy.
-Same bullet drop.

Differences:
-Damage (L96A1 does more damage obviously).
-Zoom limit (L96A1 has a higher magnification scope obviously).
-Bolt/NoBolt (Type88 does not need to be bolted, L96A1 does).

Anyone tried sniping on Wake with the Type88? You should, it works wonders... especially the "no-bolting" feature.

that used to be my favorite weapon on songhua stalemate... just loved sniping someone while hiding in the fog and bamboo,
unfortunately it is very difficult with a satelite internet connection

Anyone try laying the smackdown on USMC on wake with the AK47? You should, it works wonders... especially with the 'full-auto' feature.

Hm. Not tried that one in a while. But then I've grown far too used to the unlocks. The other day I was playing Warlord, smacked someone down with a shotgun. Since he'd laid some clays I grabbed his kit. Low and behold he had the SVD (a gun I'd sworn off as useless junk) and I actually liked it. Quirky, but fairly accurate and fast firing.

I love the Type 88; I've found it's a bit more accurate than the SVD. My favorite is the L96A1, though.

They're all good weapons. I like the Type 88 on Dalian, mainly because when I shoot someone down with the AA and they bail. I like killing them when they're parachuting or swimming. Type 88 is good because, lots of shots and if they're swimming pretty much only head shots.

I'd aggree on the certain levls thing.... i would take an svd over the m95 on Warlord anyday, just because paracheuters are easy kills (as insurgents that is)

i prefer the L96A1

if you don't kill them in 1 hit, your guaranteed a damage assist (unless thier a smart medic)

plus i seem to be more comfortable with the bolt-action... lets me cool down if i got adrenaline going or something

PS- what is it with people and the AK's??

i hate them.... they just lose their accuracy WAY to fast... you need to be able to shoot more than 5 shots at a time..

I was unhappy at first when BF2 didn't have this sight for the SVD, but then again you don't need to use the range finder and the lower needles for BF2

I like them because they are 1 shot headshots, none of that bunny hopping, dolphin diving or Jihad Bombing for me. 1 shot 1 kill.

EDIT:

On topic:

I like the scope on the Type88, and the fact that it's not bolt action. You can pop multiple headshots pretty easily with it on Strike or Wake (if you ever find a group of infantry that is )

The Dragnov's scope I don't mind either, but i'd rather the full + type scope.

yeah ive tried this out, i used the type 88 for my first 4000 kills, all on wake, it's a good boat stopper

i found the max range to be 320m with the 88
