Not so much. You've got 8 combinations or directions you can fly in. There are many many more with a joystick.(RB)BuLLeT-X2 wrote:

- Any pilots that fly Keyboard Only?
Arcaneslayer is in ark with me, 26:1 in jets, he uses kb and mouse, although he plays wake 26:1
You seriously don't get it, do you?(RB)BuLLeT-X2 wrote:

Can you slow down to 880 kp/h an hour and stay there?
Can you do the same to 600 and then lower to land?
Can you turn at 60% of your full circle?
Will you EVER run out of space for your mouse?
And the final, if somewhat pointless argument:
Do you see real F-18 pilots use a mouse and keyboard? and even if they weren't bothered by G-forces, extreme speeds, etc. do you think that they would?
I don't think anyone can slow downt o 880kp/h.SargeV1.41(tempfix) wrote:

All that bloke does is play Gamearena wake only and bomb the carrier, Nothing Else. And keyboard works very well for me KDR 13 with 19800 kills..ACB|_Cutthroat1 wrote:

Yes.
No and You can't either.
I don't use a mouse.
No, there is a difference between reality and BF2. I think F-18 Pilots' jets handle differently than BF2's? Don't you think?
I fly keyboard only. Helo and Planes. And I would say I am a pretty good pilot. I have tried to fly with the mouse but I noticed that I cannot make maneuvers as good as I do with keyboard only. I just love it, even though I got a Logitech G5.

yup i fly with keyboard only helo & jet, its the only way to fly
i have a damn good joystick & a razer copperhead mouse but prefer the keyboard 10fold

no you can't. You can try to tap and let go in time to get your speed right. That is not a constant speed nor is it practical.(RB)BuLLeT-X2 wrote:

I sure as hell can. All i need to do is pull my joystick to the right angle and voila, it's turning at 60%. You're forced to either do a 100% turn or resort to the tapping 'method' again
Good job at making things even worse!
By the way, I don't even have enough posts to karma you, you <censored>

Joystick > all
a joystick is just much better (see sargerv1.4's post). I use a joystick even though I cant deny that I will get owned by guys like Sgt_Bob05 and stryyker but when you just start flying a joystick is better IMO.

Heck, the OP has 33 hours in a jet and has a K:D of 3:1. I bet he never even learnt how to properly dogfight in the golden days of pre-1.2
id use my joystick if i flew anymore
You know, you're right. But so what its not like you're some fucking incredible pro like planewhore anyway. So STFU. Maybe if is wasn't so cheap i would have bought a joystick when i bought BF2. BUt i cannot be bothered to relearn how to fly.SargeV1.41(tempfix) wrote:

Well If you haven't read it was in my opinion. And the nerdiest thing somone could do is give somone negative karma (Like I care anyway) on the intarweb because they got them mad because they posted something that the person doesn't think is right.
oh look, here comes the kiddie arguement: "well, you're not the x either!' can you just accept the point I've been trying to make all this time? That a joystick is better than a keyboard and/or mouse?Sgt_Bob05 wrote:

I'm a decent pilot with some experience, in any case more than the average pilot here. 90% of my time spent flying was BEFORE 1.2 so I learnt how to properly fly. I have 2 months experience with a keyboard/mouse and 3 with a joystick. I have experienced both and can say without a doubt that the joystick is better. And that's all that I'm trying to say.
Dude. seriously. what did I just say? I don't even have enough posts to karma you!(RB)BuLLeT-X2 wrote:

Sorry to dissapoint you, but those stats are wrong :\ if you divide your kills by deaths you'll see.. I've got the same thing.stryyker wrote:
meh. ive done alright with a keyboard

Thats the same as me. Alot of my jet time was in an F-35b pre 1.2 That plane is so much fun to fly. I didn't make it very clear in my post but i agree with you that joystick is much better and i wish i had one. I find the only real disadvantage of keyboard is when i'm using a J-10. Because it is so sensitive when i'm am trying to take out cars or boats or the USS ESSEX it is hard because you tap one button and its to far and you tap the opposite button and it goes back the other way to far.SargeV1.41(tempfix) wrote:

i fly with keyboard and mouse, and have used joystick before but never got used to it. ill give keyboard only a go, but mouse works fine. i have the sensitivity really high so i never run outta room, and can spin as fast as any1 with a joystick. my kd ratio in a jet is 9.3 or so but its been constantly improving for ages(was about 4 a month ago) and now i get kills relly fast in a jet (look at kills/time)
I use a logitech pro stick, and before I got it I never rweally got the hang of using the arrow keys, I tap it up, it goes up vertically, I tap it down and it crashes .....If i spent a few more hours on the keyboard i'm sure ide be pro but joystick does me fine...15kd in a jet
Arcaneslayer is good at a jet, but he only has that KD because he plays gamearena wake where you can bomb the carrier, and he does it all the time!

My KDR is not that great because Pre 1.2 every other time i get in a plane i would get Tked or raped by a J-10. Silver if you thinks its bad on GA now you should have seen it and Node before the patch. Seriously even on node it was Tk or get Tked. Then you had to pray some J-10 wouldn't come along and kill you before you took off.-[Silver.Inc* wrote:

I love playing Keyboard and Mouse
In my opinion if your going to go for the keyboard only style you may aswell just buy a joystick.. What im trying to say is yes they both give the same results and performance, just a hoystick makes flying a bit more realistic
Although im a keyboard+Mouse Flyer for life :p
coming up to 50 hours flight time and 3.00kdr.

What pilots exactly ? Jet or choper ?
Jets - I don't care... don't fly them .
Chopers - I think keyboard only is way better then mouse + keyboard , cos of better manuavrebless . It's like complaining AK101 & m16 . M16 is harder to master in CQC , but when mastering it is complete , you own most of Ak101 guys . Same with flying choper with keyboard only .

for heli's = keyboard/mouse is the best for me,also added spacebar for doing easy loops.
for jets.
when first started flying i used keyboard/mouse.
keyboard only just didnt feel as fluid on the movements for dogfighting.
few months back i decided to try jets using my joypad only (thrustmaster dual shock3) & now i wont fly without it as i can easily hold my own in a dogfight with anyone.
my mate recently braught the x52 stick with seperate throttle ,sweet looking & feels very fluid on the controls
& got more dpads/buttons than you'l ever need (also lights up pretty sweet & feels very solid).
but as much as i loved the x52 i'll stick with my joypad over any other control method for jets as i'm used to it.
anyone thinking of buying a stick though i'd recomend the saitek x52.

i know that and said that, he has skills though, even though its wake and ga he is really really goodSgt_Bob05 wrote:
