I don't know if my aim with the rockets has suddenly improved, or if the Tankers on the servers yesterday were particularly crap, but after a blinding couple of rounds with the class i'm going to be using it a lot more often! I even managed to get my head around the DAO and was blasting people happily... and doesn't it make a cool noise??? SF is even better as you get to grapple up walls and shoot tanks from above, often from totally out of their firing line.

Not only that, i took out 4 choppers in one round... they weren't happy with me! BOOM! transport chopper - 5 kills...

It won't be *too* long before i'm ranking up so i'm thinking i might invest in a P90 now, whereas before i couldn't see the point...

If only there were more people like you that could see the versatility of AT. The DAO pwns teh everybodies at teh close-range while the Rockets ownzors teh n00b snipers who don't see it coming!

I had a totally great round on Dragon Valley last night on the UDR server as AT. Had a fantastic round, got my Veteran AT and won the round.

It's only good if you have one tank traveling alone, with no boxes or engineers in sight. If they have a box/engi, then you might as well sit in a corner and wait for them to go away. 5 rockets isn't enough to kill a tank if it has a repair source (because DICE sucks at making games), and if they are traveling together as engineers, then they are invincible to AT rockets. I've even shot an APC dead nuts in the middle of it, and it was on fire, then just instantly repaired and killed me....WTF!

All the n00bs say to improve the AA missles....screw that, improve the AT missles.

I do like AT. Depends on the map though. A small squad of 2 at's and a support can cause havoc.  I got logitech speakers, not the best going but not the worst either, they come with a sub. The sound from that DAO thing is wicked, boom fkn boom.
Anti-Tank class is a 7 year old who has a gun way bigger than he penis. He also wants his god damn happy meal.

If you see a TANK/APC next to box..  I spend my 1st rocket on the BOX,, then lets concentrate on getting rid of  the Armour.    2 more rockets and he's gone.

I like going AT, but more often than not, I'm the only one on my team who does. Two AT sticking together can save a lot of tickets for the team.

AT is so underrated... only because its the class whom gets the lowest points but they can save the team.

I quite like playing AT when the time is right, however a lack of practice and skill make me a bit ineffective. It is the most underrated class though, apart from spec ops (who move in like flys to tanks, and get put down just about as easily) , they are the only ones who can take down tanks from the ground.

Yeah, but only if they don't see you. If they do, they just shoot you with their 'ub3r-cannon-that-goes-through-anything'. Plus, you only have five rockets. At best, that's one APC and one tank. Now, if they are traveling together as engineers, then five rockets isn't enough.

I think the AT rockets should be as powerful as TOW's. Maybe that will discourage the fags in armor who just sit in a protected area where they pretty much can't be killed.

Well that's just dumb. Then they'd have to actually make bullets as powerful as bullets.

Actually with 5 rockets you can take out 2 tanks and an unarmored transport.  Personally I don't mind the power of the AT rocket all that much, but what bugs me is that the drivers get a warning before you fire because of the lock.  That why I play SF so much, because that RPG just owns vehicle whores.  It isn't anymore powerful, but they have no idea you have the thing out and targeting them.  It makes hitting tanks from the rear a lot easier, hence more kills.

I'm pretty sick of people complaining about the AT class.  My buddies and I always roll with two AT's in the squad, and through clever use of, communication we can co-ordinate our attack to either insta-kill APCs, or distract tanks to give us time to get 3 rockets in.  Occaisionally, we can maneuver around to get two rockets, launched almost simultaneously at the tracks.  Even if he has an engineer buddy, that's instant death.

Sure, low points, but while my peers all run around popping people with their cap-guns, we're up in it destroying heavy armour.  Kinda satisfying.

I personnally think that you become dangerous with the AT when you take down the little boats in Iron Gator. Try to get a small and far away moving target. Getting infantry is also fun :-)

i've being trying to stay away from the dao-12, coz u cant use em in matches.

but tbh, this thread has me wanting the noise..........

AT is t3h sex!  I think I'm one of just a handful of players to manage a decently positive K/D ratio with the anti-tank guy's submachine gun (the DAO is for n00bs j/k)

And for Special Forces fans: The RPG-7 reloads MUCH faster than the "wire-guided" Eryx/SRAW and does almost double the damage!  Keep that in mind the next time you play Surge.

Solution: Don't zoom. If you don't right click they don't get a warning.
