So I'm playing on a UK server today (SF) and the map is Devils Perch.  I'm on the U.S. team and about 10 minutes into the game I realize that we have no commander.  I ask someone to take the Commander spot, but nobody does.  I'm thinking "that's shitty, nobody wants to command", so I apply as Commander.  Lo and behold, it won't let me command.  "Hmmm, I think"...so I try again.  No luck.  Someone else tries, no luck.

Needless to say another bug exists in the game and we get our asses handed to us by the other team (they had a commander).

I then complain about this bug-ridden game and state that "BF2 isn't worth the money I spent".  Map ends.

Next map is Warlord.  I'm squad leader and some guy from EA joins my team.  He asks over the comm, "did I see you type that BF2 isn't worth the money?"

I said "Yes".  He was British and entirely respectful about it...he didn't say anything else and played out the map in my squad.

This got me thinking when, the next map loaded and my game crashed to the desktop because the server crashed "is this game really worth the money"?

Here is my list of bugs that happen on a daily basis:

1.  I click "Join" to join a game and the game crashes to the desktop.  I have to re-launch BF2 and go through the 10 minute process of logging in, updating servers, then finding and joining a server.  This usually happens twice and ALWAYS happens if I switch between mods (BF2 to SF to AF).

2.  In the middle of the game I'll be playing and the game will crash to the desktop.  BF2 is minimized at the bottom of the screen and I have maximize it again only to find I have been killed by someone.  This is post 1.3, it never happened before then...

3.  Dual core support - I cannot play this game with both cores of my processor.  The game will constantly crash if I try...I have to use XP Launcher to play with a single core.

4.  Connection Lost - EVERYDAY.  I have a business connection at my home with dedicated 5MB down and 768K up.  This is the only game that loses connection on a daily basis.  No other game EVER loses connection.

5.  Blue/Red bug - at some point the blue/red bug pops up.  Once again you have to go through the 10 minute process of getting out of the game and logging back in...

Occasional bugs:

1.  No commander allowed like today - this really sucks because a commander means everything to a team.

2.  Can't join or create a squad when not all of the squads are filled.  WTF is up with that???

I will add more to this list when I remember all of the bugs.

Please add your list of bugs below, I'm curious to see who else has all these problems.

As a side note:  I have gone to EA support in the past to get problems fixed.  Never has a problem been fixed, their support department seems to have the attitude that they don't have to support us, and it is our problem that we have a bad experience playing the game.  This attitude only increased my belief that this game is NOT worth the money.  They (EA) need to fix their shit before dumping more booster packs and mods on us.  If all these bugs didn't exist, this game would be tops in my book.  As it stands now, it rates at the bottom of the pack.

Isnt there a official thread somewhare or here on BF2S that have a very detailed list of all bugs that exist?

Here some other: Slow/buggy server browser. Sometimes no loading animation when reloading weapons. Endless shooting sound from other people. Claymores/healthsupplys/ammosupplys sometimes falling through the ground/floor. Sometimes more than 6 peolpe are in a squad. Sometimes unable to join or create a squad. When updating favoriteslist the whole list disappears. Zombie-people...(guys without a kit).

But yes its worth the money anyway. Version 1.0 has much better performance on my PC....

Yes.  I've spent $50 for BF2, $30 for SF, $10 for EF, $10 for AF, $30 on a headset, $115 on a new soundcard, and around $200 for new RAM.  Then you add in the frustrations of all the bugs and glitches...

...it's still no contest.  The game is definitely worth the money and time.  No other game have I spent so much time on and still been entertained by.

same here, connection prob aint nothin cause u just rejoin & carry on where you left off with your points.
only one that yanks my chain is the server crash as it usualy happens right near the end of a good scoring
round & end up losing the lot lol.
once 1.3's fixed its back to happy times .

I have experienced/been witness to, all of the afore mentioned bugs, and after a month or so of trying to play the last patch has done it for me.  Sooner or later the compelling urge to play gets drawn away, by the inability to, and you may find yourself looking for another game to play.  I've told myself that I will have another go with the next patch, but my patience has worn thin.

It's similar to watching England play football, you know it's an excellent game, but it always seems to end in disappointment.

In retrospect, it's a shame the EA player that joined your squad, couldn't put more effort into getting some bugs fixed instead of playing?
