Ok, yet more stories, but this ones a good one, not a rant at how DICE fugded the game, not a bitching session about how the J-10/PKM/G36E is over powered, not at how 1.3 is going to cause the end of the world, no a quick tail of how when every element of Bf2 comes together the game becomes beautiful.

So as I'm working towards Sergeant Major (as it seems everyone is) I go off to a random server thats playing Mashtuur City, I load up, 30 tickets on my side to go and obviously we lose that round. My first full round starts and a join a squad headed by a guy called Chief5B (if you ever see him, get in his squad) we both move off from the US main to the Mosque, and this is where it starts. 4 more guys join our squad (none from the same clan or anything, just a random group of players) so we have a full 6 man sqaud, and whats more, we start working together, we all start talking over Voip and we stick close.

Our squad consisted of 3 medics, a enginneer in a tank supporting us and not just raping flags, a support and a Anti-Tank. We ripped through everyone that came near us, when any of us died, we'd clear and revive, the entire squad seemed just to work perfectly together and almost every fire fight we got into we won. I died 5 times in an entire round, with around on 25 kills, same went for the rest of the squad, we had a good commander who was giving us intrusctions and support on Voip. Generally we just took the game to the enemy and destroyed them.

Now I know alot of you might find this boring and a few might even try to de-rail it (I'm looking at you spawn ), but I tell you what, it doesn't happen often, but when it does, BF2 is easily one of the best games you can play and that round and the rounds that followed have brought back everything should stand for.

So I'd like to thank DICE for making a game which when played properly, is better than any other, without crashes, without problems, without people whining, just plain good gameplay that alot of peeople don't seem to be getting nowadays. Thank you to Chief5B and all of our squad, you've brought BF2 back to where it should be.

So put that CD in, start up BF2 and go play in a decent sqaud and play this game how it was meant to be played.

Working in 6\6 squad happens with me maybe about 5-10 rounds from whole time of playing .. it's very-very rare.

Don't think so Tyferra, checking his stats he was german, but he jsut sounded european to me.

And yes I know thats how clans play, but when a group of people who've never played together, have no way of communicating outside the game play like that, it's just nice, and also I figured as everyone is all annoyed with 1.3 we could use a little happiness

Best I ever had was working in a 3 man squad.  So much more fun but that was a long time ago.  I think EA needs to make it more of an incentive to work together.  Say a share of the squads points when the round finishes?

Say the squad makes 240 points, 6 members so an extra 40 points each.

Most clans that are on the same servers that i am will either kick you from the squad or just ignore you completely throughout the round. Should be a register of people that use the VOIP and actually work together rather than squad wolfing.

I've never been kicked off a clan squad when I've joined. I'll come on a squad clan usually starting as a medic and make sure the squad stays alive. Then switch to whatever kit would help whenever I respawn. My attitude in a clan based squad is to support the squad. In fact I've been invited to join a couple of clans through my work on their squad.

What is this "squad" feature you speak of? It sounds scary, I don't like it.....

Get in a clan and that will happen every round.

Some people don't want the clan commitment.  It's nice to play with random people and have that good of a round.

I've had some amazing squad leaders and memebers, that just work together.  That's very fun.  A lot of the time I play with one or two of my friends so we have that clanlike feel, but we rarely fill a squad on our own.  So, when people join us, they quickly learn that we are very organized and communication is vital.  Once, they catch on they do very well in our squad and we rarely kick (for instance, joining our squad only to spawn)

Also, there are time in the game in which while being a lonewolf you meet up with a bunch of teammates and you make a make shift squad.  No joining, nothing.  But somehow you communicate w/o words or anything and win that quick firefight or take that base.  Those moments are amazing.

i love those moments. it happens once in a blue moon, but when it does, its usually a full session. 2-5 hours in that squad. thats how the game should be played....sadly its not.

I used to play a lot of 24/7 Kark servers.  Not really much room for teamwork.  Especially on GoF with no admins

>NN< when it has a lot of clan members on, you'll get some good communication and teamwork there.  I always go there.  Nothing is more fun than that.  I forget about scores and shit because Im having so much fun.

Can't stand being lonewolf, kills me to think about it.

Speaking of a decent game, i just go to Warlord in the palace with my AK-101 and be a medic. Instant 100+ pts for me everytime.

I had the same experience the other day.  I joined the VSSq server and joined an existing squad of 5 (VSSq|AnimalThug, Fievelgoespostal, another VSSq and a couple other blokes).  The next few rounds we pretty much dominated.  We had two or three guys over 100 points on Sharqi, I had 120+ (30+ kills / 4 deaths / and a crapload of team points...medic whore ftw!).  Just wanted to say thanks to those guys for the few rounds I was able to play with them.

Usually I have the pleasure of playing with a consistant group of guys from my BF2C squad (38P|45|SOF) and new clan/community DCDF.  We have a great time and work really well together often placing one after another high up in the leader board.  I know you guys read these boards so thanks for the good times!

Nothing beats good squad play!

Ugh. The only time I ever get a moment like that is when my friend Mike_J comes on and we carry our team on our shoulders. Seems like we're cursed with the utmost typical BF2 anomaly: "You are always assigned the worst team possible. ALWAYS."

So I feel like it's up to him and I to turn the tide, or at least try, the odds are still 50/50 give or take the decency of teammates and such, but still.

It might sound stupid but on wake island there is a very good squad leader who does this almost every night, very fun, and unusual for wake island.

Or scouting around until you find a squad with lots of clan tags. Trust me: clan tags = good squad. I guarantee it.

Clan DMZ play together a lot but have pretty much no commitment requests, we don't even demand subs.
We like our members to favour our servers but since they are hosted by the best it's no biggy.

Sorry to do the whole promotion/selling thing but the DMZ is moving more and more towards a community (with all this event organising stuff) as that's what we had in mind when starting it.

If you make yourself known to the guys, they will always play with you (I might too!) If you wanna join that's excellent, if not that's cool. If you do join and wanna play in official matches, that's great, if you just wanna hang out, that's cool to.

OK, end of the sales pitch, carry on.
