This problem especially occurs when you switch from a cheap Onboard Video Card to a High-end Video Card. Here is how to fix it:
1. Open Windows Media Player (Start > All Programs > Windows Media Player)
2. Maximize your Windows Media Player so that at the top you can see several Tabs.
3. Click on Tools. Select and Click Options. A new Window will pop up
4. On the New Window there are a series of Tabs. Click the "Performance" tab.
5. At the Bottem is a Slider called "Video Acceleration". Drag the Slider all the way to the left.
Hope this helps.
