We're no longer taking new requests to play in next weeks Medics vs Snipers competition though with over 200 hundred entries I think that's quite enough!

I'd like to thank everyone for their support of this event; it's been a challenge keeping on top of everything but great fun.

I have moved the official page to the new DMZ-gaming site and added some new stuff. If you click on the names of any of the players you will go to a profile page where they can display their picture (if they mail it to me - myphoto@duffry.com - these will be used during the webcast) and you can see what they voted for as well as leave comments about the player.
I appreciate this feature is likely to be massively abused so please ignore the smacktards who think it's funny to write banality in any web form. these comments could come in handy for the BFTV commentaters so lets get something appropriate and witty on there.

well coulnt help but notice im not in this one. i dont have a problem with this as i understand you can only pick 15 or so out of the whole group. my question is, will there be matches help like this in the future, this seems to be pretty cool and i signed up pretty early so i wanted to sometime get a piece of this

As this was a challenge that was issued and accepted I thought it only fair to let the challengers and acceptors choose who would play, and yeah, 200+ hopefuls for 60 places means a lot of disappointed people.
But.
Not all positions have been finalised.
Given the chaotic nature of such events the team leaders will likely have to call on some reserves on the day.

If you still want to play but are not one of those selected so far then make contact with the team leaders (community forums and/or x-fire) so they know you are keen. Don't wait for them to come to you, they have loads of to do.

Yes, we will be holding more such events soon and I am looking at ways in which we can get more people involved (try-outs, play-offs etc). The more support you show this event the more I'll be on the case for the next one.

I can't get over the feeling medics wil own. Snipers will use the claymores.......

But if an entire team is snipers and, say, tupla and ss took 2 simultaneous shots with an M95/L96 at someone then it'll be an instant death. Maybe it will work.

I think Medics will win, the medic gun is just as good as a rifle and if you get in close quater with medics then snipers dont stand a chance.

PS - Leave some comments guys - the commentators don't know the players, some of you do. Give them something to talk about.

This is the final beta version of the mod which means there will be a new and final version soon.

Here's what to do:
* Download it from the link in the 1st post.
* Extract the rar file (If you don't have winrar, get it)
* Run the extracted file
* Check the installation path (defaults to the BF2 default - only change if you changed it for BF2)
* Run the shortcut that has been added to your desktop
* You won't see any servers in the multiplayer window but you can either test it in a single player game or on the test server (IP in 1st post)

That's it. This will not impede your normal game in any way (for Gods sake tell us if it does! )

Though I fear it's misuse I have added a 'respect-o-meter' to the profile page for each player.
So not only can you leave a comment about them but submit your vote on how well you respect them (as a person, a player, a forum poster - whatever).

No. I was #24 on the starting list on this forum, then I got removed to make room for some of his online friends who signed up that day. He said he didn't know me and would have to play with me, which is weird since I was in that sniper competition and he killed me a few times and i got him a few times. So, it is apparently about the buddy system on the sniper side and I want no part of it. However, i appreciate the idea and organization of it.

I think youve gotten the wrong impression mate. The selection was certainly not based on 1st come - 1st served and people who have signed up late are still making the team. What has been a deciding factor for both sides is how easily the TL can get hold of the players and how much they put into the development of tactics. Hence those already a pert of the community were geared up to organise and provide the TL with comfort that they are ready and willing to play. If you get in touch with the TL in x-fire and join the forum I'm pretty sure that there are still places available of those that are taken are tenuous.
While it may look like buddy's were chosen it's more that 'known' was chosen over 'unknown' but if you make yourself known and display the skills then you will be considered I think.
