Scroll down for flashbangs.

The flash doesn't make you go blind or temporarally blind or anything. It "Pauses" your vision for 5 seconds.

It doesn't say how the sound effects your hearing (but 10 minutes is bullshit) but it plays with your sense of balance causing you to stumble around.

IN my opinion (as of yet, no military service, so don't quote me ), i think the bright flash disorients vision, and the loud bang rattles the little pieces inside your ear, causing you to lose full audio capacity and sense of balance. (Due to the disruption of the stirrup, hammer, etc. [i think those're the names of those 3 little pieces)

I think we can just say it sucks to get flashed and leave it at that...

We need incendiary grenades.  Those would be a wicked unlock.  They should take a good amount of life off helicopters and tanks.

I think relevance is wasted in this BF2 community.

In my unprofassional opinion... the flash from the explosion makes you blind for seconds, you cant hear (due to the explosion) for a period of time (a minute or so), and it might throw you off balance due to what keeps you balanced... something inside of your ear.

Don't forget to try one in your pants, just to see what happens.

The things in your ear that control your balance are called "semi circular canals."

Yes, that is the name and literal description of your shape. They are full of saline and small hairs inside of them determine where the liquid is and where the pull of gravity is coming from.

If you've ever played Counter-Strike:Source, the flashbangs in that game are quite like the ones IRL.

Also: The movie "Precinct 13" has a few good shots of what flashbangs can do. Its pretty sweet... I mean sick. Ya, sick.

a little off topic but have i really like the flash bang gernades in Americas Army.  same effect but i think 100% black is alot less annoying than 100% white from a gaming sence

Hi..

Probably a similar effect to intense sunlight hitting your pupils, added with a loud 'bang' and loss of balance.

fact: blinds you for several seconds you'll have high pitched buzz in your inner hear for several second which also disrupts your sence of balance (which is controled by the inner hear) Once the buzzing ceases you'll regain motor functions.

AhahahahahahahahahahaaHAHAHAHA!
I thought it was supposed to be white, but was a graphical glitch!  AA has always struck me as not quite polished...never quite finished, y'know.  Hehe, just as well I didn't spend any time trying to trace the fault.

Damn.

The main reason for the flash bang is to temporarily blind and stun an individual.  The effects don't last that long if even measurable.  I have been flash banged in a room with no light and was not able to see for a short period of time and as for the noise they are quite loud.  The thing is I was always aware of when one was going to go off (I am on a SRT team) and I think when you expect it the effects are diminished but they do what they are designed to do and thats give the thrower a time advantage.

Well having one go off 3 feet infront of me, i can tell you that it burns your eye brows, gives you one big shock and makes a loud bang. No lasting effects for more than a few seconds.
This was from being in the Army and doing training exercises that made you get used to it all. The purpose of them was to give you that second advantage over the enemy, nothing else

I remember some guy in the military on an AA forum commenting about this. They freeze your vision for 5 minutes not seconds. You cant hear shit for a really long time and you cant do anything. You pretty much would drop your gun and go into fetal position. They can also really damage your vision badly. Im not sure if he was right or not.
