Hello there!

We all now that arty kills go towards the kit/vehicle your using and I'm quite sure that for example repair points don't pop up in-game but you'll see them on your global stats later on.

But my question is, do you get global "Defended flag" points when you arty an enemy at your flag?

As far as I know, and I don't know much, they don't count.  Just like if you repair something as commander you don't get a repair point.  This is what I've read from other posts.

Some guy got basic repair while playing engy as commander.

This is why I was wondering if you'll get flag defense points as well.

He probably repaired his own assets with the wrench, crates do not give repair points, as artillery on a flag being capped wouldn't be defend points.

You dont' score the point "in the match". But I'm pretty sure you score it on your "global score" as you say later... I kinda doubt I've killed 1200 guys standing around at our flags with guns only. I'll check it out tonight and give you a definate answer.

Yep.... Counted 1 defend CP point up even thgouh I screwed him froma mile away... So arty defends count.

I dont think the point of the post is to get points.. but to get score towards the medal of whatever that needs 1000 defend CP....

No ... defend points count as teampoints and commanders don't get those. It may contribute to your command score during a round, I don't really know.

Again.... If you want the medal.. You WILL get "defend CP" points IN BFHQ, these points DO count towards the 1000 you need.
No, you wont get any points for it IN THE ROUND... But your global score WILL go up with that one point if you check your points in BFHQ. Same goes for kills with arty, kills when commanding, healing points, ammo points etc. etc. these points also count on your global combat/teamwork score, and counts towards the combat action medal (or whateever it's called) and any other medals. In point of fact, you get points for EVERYTHING while commanding, you just dont get the points IN THE ROUND.

The only real downside to using arty as flag defend is that it's darned hard to time the arty strike to kill an entire group before they neutralize the flag.
