I just got this headset and I love them!

They have 5.1 surround sound, EAX capabilities, and are really sensitive! They will help you locate every player and their exact location when they are in hearing range! This headset has improved my gaming dramatically, and if you are looking for a new one, you should definitely consider this one. They are also relatively cheap. For me, it was $88, then after the deadly taxes of Canada and the Shipping and Handling, it came to a total of $114.

This product can be found at ebay.com for most users, or tigerdirect.ca for Canadian users.

Well worth it.

EDIT:

I forgot to add, this headset is used with a USB connection. Therefore, it uses a driver CD to install its components, so you can have EAX (it is built into the headset) without getting a new sound card!

I suggest Speedlink Medusa 5.1 USB or ProGamerEdition... The Sennheiser PC 160 is pretty cool too, but over here way to expensive for only stereo.

While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

I've had my eye on these 5.1s for awhile now but they dont seem to be available yet.  Anyone know more about them?

The headset is equipped with a convenient detachable microphone, amplified woofers for deep bass vibration, and eight speaker drivers for crystal clear surround effects for music, DVDs, and gaming.

I'll stick with my shitty ten-year old speakers from NEC so I don't have to spend money, lol.  I need a new sound card more than anything else.

I used to go through life with a thrust headset, bought it for 5 euro, I could hear every direction in call of duty, everything, it was the ownage the very best ownage

Then I bought a more expensive one of 25 euros, its quite good to but not as good as the thrust was

Bose isn't really that great as far as real sound goes.  It was good in it's inception, but there are better options for the ridiculous cost.

Its about time Razer released the Barracuda headset.  Eventually when it comes for an upgrade, I'll probably look into those.

Speaking of Razer, their Tarantula keyboard looks pretty nifty.  I'm not exactly sure of this feature: "Anti-Ghosting capability to prevent key jamming when multiple keys are simultaneously pressed."  But would that mean for example: instead of not being able to hold crouch (caps lock) while strafing, and pressing another key would actually register- instead of only being able to press and hold a limited amount of held keystrokes.  I've had this problem on many occasions such as playing old school Roms with an Emulator on the pc when there's two people sharing one keyboard.  Anyways..

How's this for a uber-leet headset?

I use the Kinyo: KY-100 5.1 headphones with a cheap $10 Logitec mic taped to the side.  Its kinda annoying sometimes but its not too bad.
