Ive played BF2 A LOT since I got it in January, 2006 and have 50,000+ points . I still don't know how to do the spin prone manuever. Also as commander can you only VOIP to squad leaders and there members or is there a button to speak to everyone on the team.

Also on the attack choppers . I have a very good logitech joystick which I think I set right. But I cant hover I seem to only go forward or back ward. Since the good chopper guys basically rape everyone on the ground , any suggestions? Ive looked at the "chopper guide" but that doesn't help. Also when I fly I don't seem to have enough control. SInce the game is completely imbalanced on the choppers/planes.

Any Help?

You can only speak to the squad leaders, they relay your info the their squad. You can talk to one squad, a few, or all of them. Just hit control and click how many squads you want to talk to.

The only suggest I have for the joystick is to practice, practice, practice. Start your own server and just fly around or start a single player and practice while being shot at. It's just something you need to get the hang of. OR, try flying choppers with a keyboard/mouse combo. You might have more luck.

lets see, left hand on the throttle, move it up to go higher, move it down to go lower, and put it in the middle to hover.....

Spin-prone manoeuvre? You mean jumping, turning 180° and landing prone to fire at the guy who was behind you? Or rolling sideways into a prone position?

If it's the first you just need to practice and have the sensitivity on the mouse high enough.

If it's the second you're probably already doing this without realising it: you just strafe (right or left) then hit prone and that's what the other player sees. It's a third-person thing only, you don't see it from your perspective.

Thanks guys. I know its easy to say flying planes/choppers go up with the joystick , down. But some players are so dominant scoring 200 points, never getting killed . I just wanted to know if they have a better joystick or some other technique. I feel that if I practiced a long time I would miss out on a lot of points. With the chopper/plane its probably my settings on my joystick or in game control which I dont know how to make better. I cant just idle over a target but whatever. At least in 2142 there eliminating the ridiculous advantage of air vehicles.

As DICE said they didnt anticipate the skill of pilots. But they should have given a stinger as a carry weapon.
With a good chopper pilot as you know its  a complete shooting gallery.

I love strategy games and this has so many layers of strategy that about everygame I see something new or incredible. I dont know how they did it. Its 1O years ahead of its time.

Also I should have been promoted more at 20000 and then 50000. But I wasnt. I had that glitch problem at 20000(I had like one promotion but not the other one). My stats say 50000+, Bf2s says 40000+. Im contacting EA . Its ridiculous. I worked so hard to get 50000+ then didnt get the promotion to get more unlocks. DISAPPOINTING.

One way to practice hovering is to use a transport helicopter because they are much easier to handle. Once you can hover with them you can move up the the attack chopper.

I'm not a heli expert, but I'm not sure it's so important to be able to hover perfectly still. It's a good way to get blown out of the sky.

I got screwed with the promotion thing too. I mostly ignored badges until a lack of badges lost me the First Sergeant promotion at 20000. I badge-whored for a while after that.

join a non ranked game (yes they excist) or create your own game and practice flying. i use mouse keyboard and get perfact control, can hover like a dream. keep an eye on the small circle that comes up on your HUD when your not moving or moving slow, thats your hover indicator (if im not mistaken) if that circle doesn't move then your hovering.

Thanks. But the attack chopper is so hard to control, keep stable with a mouse. It turns violently and crashes a lot. With the joystick it works a lot better but I dont have it down. I just got the 50000 promotion!. Is MP7 any good? Also I'm new to this so how do you post your stats like Cbass420(or a picture). Also why are some subjects gray? And is there a way for me to get back to this post without having to look through everything.

Also whats are your favorite servers. I play cantstopgaming 420 Jedis Teamhaf. SInce Im crashing a real lot Im installing the patch 1.4 with backup of original BF2 , I mean I'm crashing left and right. Sometimes I dont crash for a while but its ridiculous as you know.

How do you make a stat page like Cbass420.

an answer for all your helo piloting.. PRACTICE. There isn't a better way really. I mean sure you can ask someone or have someone show u but u truely get better when u practice.

I thought the commander could only talk to all the SLs, not choose a single one to talk to. Cool.

Choppers? Circle strafe.

Makes your rockets hit your crosshair dead on, great for taking out infantry your gunner can't hit. Makes everything in your FOV an absolute hell. Makes you near-impossible to hit unless you're up against good AT players.

Maybe you've got mouse settings wrong or just need more practice?

Patch 1.3. After approx 15 hours as a chopper pilot I've managed to learn to handle it with mouse - it seems really simple and natural, just watch the horizon and (almost) leave alone throttle button when hovering. I do not look at hover indicator (seems useless to me anyway) - it's better to keep eye on objects nearby. When flying with proper gunner it's really easy to cap flags by hover-strafing around them (as long as there are no nasty antennas / high buildings around ).

If gunner is OK with TV missiles, when lining him up for the shot I usually spot the target - this way he is notified about shot line-up and my team as well (normally gunners should spot targets, but this is rarely the case).

As for TV-soloing - sometimes it is better to solo, because some lame-ass PFC keeps spawning and jumping in and constantly tries to take out tanks with guns.

Try AutoHotkey software - you can create nice script for solo-TV. I have two side buttons on my mouse (MX518) - one is binded to (F2 -> Right Click -> Double Click) and second is (F1 -> F9). This makes firing TVs at solo very easy.

Also, small tip: USE Control key when piloting! Seeing other chopper couple of secods erlier will usually save you life.

Try flying with the mouse and the keyboard for a while in singleplayer, then switch over to your joystick, perfect hover is about 35 percent throttle and keeping the heli complete still, you get a circle swerfing over the middle of ur screen then and it should stop in the middle

yea ive been piloting choppers for about 20 hours, and im pretty decent at it, but have only gunned a few times.
can any1 tell me what the little circle thing is in the pilot screen, which goes away when u take off, always up off the screen. i cant work out whats its for, so if any1 knows....

i use keyboard and mouse both for jets and chopper, and find it much easier to control a chopper with them, but i guess its just what u get used to.

Its a hover-o-meter as I like to call it, when ur in a perfect hover it is in the middle of the screen.

It's hover indicator - displays something like your relative horizontal movement speed to the ground.

put in your player ID number and click "get stats" scroll down and there should be a link saying "view basic signatures" copy paste the tag to ur Bf2s sig page and your good. just pick the sig u like best

and yes the Mp7 pwns, just burst fire it.

about the chopper, fly whatever way works for u. i would practice on an empty server. practice is the best way man.

Thanks for the good feedback. This is the greatest game ever made and I've played a lot of games. The levels of srategy are amazing and the thought DIce put into the maps and the user interface is amazing. This game is 10 years ahead of its time and Im really looking forward to BF2142. I always learn new things even after 500 hours of playing. New ways. And if you play with good players its really amazing. Now that I got the 50000+ points I'm not so point crazy. BUt I was surpised that it unlocked only G36c? medic and the L? rilfe. I already had the G36C and I dont see the L? rifle. The Ak101 seems to be the best.

Are there more unlocks  at the next promtion?

Also this is an amazing site and I'm not easily impressed. There is even funny postings like the buy complaining about his nipple piercings. LOL.

But Cbass, I tried to "get stats on my page but couldn't do it? ANything more specific. Do you then just paste the picture in your reply?
