Nvidia.
A 6800 would be good, but if you have more money i would go with a 7800. Anything lower than a 6600 and you wouldn't be able to play on good settings.

get a Nvidia 7900GT for around 250-300 credits.
If your Mobo supports PCI-E: Look out for a 7600GT for average settings, or as mentioned a 7900GT for better performance and graphics.
If your Mobo supports AGP: well, nothing you can do about it, buy a new one. The AGP-cards dont reach the level of the PCI-cards and are way too expensive (Asus 6800Ultra 256MB is around 400 € atm). Low end with AGP8x is a FX5900 or 6800GT imho.
none of them. The Nvidia FX5.... and 6-series arent up to date. You can play BF2 on a 6800 Ultra or 6800GT in high settings though, those cards are barley handled and too expensive for the features atm. Further it depends on your Motherboard, do you use AGP8x or PCI-E???=W=GeneralSherman wrote:

i'll sell you my ati x800xl pci-e if you want it. 110 shipped or so, comes with ATI silencer gpu cooler, but you've gotta tap the power from your power supply.
it's enough to play karkand with 1280x1024 with full features, around 45-50 fps.

@i3igpete
I don't think you can really say how the game will play based on just the graphics card. My x850 XT PE doesn't barely do 30 fps avg in karkand.
Just my opinion though...

Check these out. Usually NewEgg has some good deals, and they change daily. My advice to you would be to find out what type of interface you need, pick a brand, then read some reviews (http://www.tomshardware.com is a decent place to start), then finally shop around for a good price with a few video cards in mind. That way you can be flexible on what to buy while staying in your price range. Honestly, its all about how much you want to spend. That almost always determines how the card will perform. I hope this helps you!
