The only hard thing about is getting used to how easy it is to land planes in BF2. If you think this is hard.. try landing planes in MS Flight Simulator 2004 or even a real serious simulation like IL-2 Forgotten Battles... now thats hard buddy.

Yeah, until someone mans a stinger and paints you and you desperately try to avoid the missiles, then realize you're a marked man and start mashing the China button on the spawn screen like a nutcase.
LOL!!!

for all the people saying change the AA back to how it used to be... thats just about the most retarded thing ive ever heard. i guess all the jet whores just want to be invincible. the pre 1.2 or whatever AA was like this, "locked on to helo thats just hovering there, 1 missile guaranteed to veer off like it was never even locked and the 2nd one had about a 60% chance of hitting"   all of the good pilots will shoot down the AA before you even get a chance to get a steady lock if you live that long

Slowing down and don't flare, because the wonderful BF2 engine will make you do a vertical landing that way....without VTOL engines.
He probably doesn't know what flaring an aircraft means...

Oh by the way.. isn't it odd that the F-35 can take off like a rocket.. yet it performs like a POS anyways? lol
Yea I know, you don't even have to engage VTOL engines to take off at 45 degrees from the spawnpoint. And you can rotate it 45 degrees left or right also for rocket launch.

F35B should have a active stealth system, make it handle the same POS, why not, but make it take double as long to lock on to (for A2A, AA sites have so limited range and good fighter pilots should not lose the F-35B out of the lock for a single secend, depending of the plane of course).

lol its really easy just slow to 350kts and land
Its 350 kilometers per hour... at 350 kts on a landing.. you're gonna burn ur ass on the runway.. and nuthin's gonna be left of you or your plane... that's in real life by the way..  in the BF2 world.. planes have ceilings of 300 feet.. or 300 meters.. whatever they use..

The speed of the F-35 isn't really it's high point I guess since it only uses the take-off speed for vertical take-offs.

i like the AA the way it is seen behind enemy lines even supposed skilled pilots find it hard to avoid heat seekers

What's really funny is that everybody seems to bitch about the less manuverable planes when in fact, all it takes is different tactics to utilize them properly.  Perhaps those folks should quit griping and whining for a fix, and spend some time perfecting what we have.  The F-35 has speed, climb and great stall speed angle of attack.  If your in trouble with the J-10, keep more damn distance inbeween you and them, so when they turn, you can stay inside instead of overshooting them.  Chop the throttles, and your turn will bring you inside.

AA worked OK pre-1.2. Me and TMo would go into 1.03 servers and pwn in the choppers, but there was occasionaly this one guy who knew how to use the AA REALLY well, he'd at least get 1 hit on us each time.

Why not go ahead and talk about FS?
I never got FS2004, I only have 2002 hehe.

Can't wait for FSX, that's a must-buy.
How much space do you think it needs for all the textures, lol? 20 gb?

Wow, and such a sudden derailment too. So sad. I think half the BF2S userbase has a severe form of ADD.

What has happened to aviators since 1.2?
They complain a whole lot more now.

You mean the ones who did all the flying pre 1.20?  If so I agree.

no shit. maybe it's because dogfighting has been removed and the jets unbalanced? We have every reason to complain.

Its just a perception thing. "All in the eye of the beholder".

Before 1.2 the jet pilots had the LUXURY of concentrating on dogfighting if they want to, just because the Ground to Air missiles were no threat to them, and therefore could be ignored.
After the AA was improved, a lot of "ace" dogfighting pilots chickened out of the planes, because they now are much more vulnarable to ground AA.
So indeed its harder to find skilled/allround pilots now on the same server.

Its a kind of funny anachronism  anyway  to dogfight  with planes like  F15 , F18 and F22-  that use LONG-RANGE (Amraam 120 radar homing/guided) missiles - designed  to take out enemy planes  that are 20 to 50 miles away beyond visual range (!)  , if you ask me !

lol, ground AA still can't touch me, dogfighting just got less fun.
There is a reason that they have a mounted M61 canon.

And everyone before 1.2 wasn't allowed to complain? You're peeing on your own feet Sarge.
