BF2S Forums FREEZE,not subzeros freeze tho!!!!!!!

I still think there are issues with PB because mine worked fine last nite after updated the new PB. But today it started acting up again..

I also just found some news about PB from there site that maybe useful. I don't know though. Here is a Q&A from their FAQs.

I keep getting kicked off of servers and I see messages about INIT FAILURE or technical errors about pbcl.dll or pbag.dll, or messages about DISTRESS or Update timeout ... what is wrong?

These problems are almost always caused when your PunkBuster can't keep itself updated for some reason. Sometimes they are caused when the server you are trying to play on is running an old version of PunkBuster. If this problem happens only on one or a few PB Servers, then the cause is likely that those servers are outdated; in that case, you should avoid those servers. If this happens to you on every PB server you try to play on, then please click here for help on getting your PunkBuster updated.

I just contacted PB. I am waiting for a response from them. So, we'll have to wait and see what these fucks come up with...

Again, spoke too soon. Just tried on two different servers and got kicked after a minute by PB for "No Packet Flow"  What the f does that mean??

Now im getting really pissed off with this shit from EA or PB, i dont spend my hard earned money on there products so they can piss about with my game when they feel like it. I bet im not the only 1 who feels like this, i was just getting the lock ups when a new map started, now i get them half way through a game.

I would'nt mind so much if they let us know that there was a problem instaed of geniune members on here trying everything from drivers to PB updates to fix the problem. Come on EA or PB give us a clue to wot the problem is or at least admit there is a problem.

Well, my sources actually tell me when that new update came out (that was freezing all of us back at the end of October) that that new PB update did a lot of things with hacks. It detected all the PUBLIC v1.03 hacks (so they say), and it gave everyone caught using a "GAMEHACK" a Global Ban insted of a 2 minute ban.

I guess when they released this new PB update it had some fualty bugs in it. I just wonder why some people are able to play where some of us are not.


Oh and the no friendly fire thing might be something to do with it. Hmmm. Cause too many TeamKills is just another thing you get kicked by. So maybe something about TKs and PB is conflicting.

As a first step, please tell them to download the "PCI32.ZIP" Version
1.4 from here:
http://members.datafast.net.au/dft0802/downloads.htm

Please extract the files from the ZIP archive to a folder on their local
hard disk. Please open a command prompt (Start->Run...->cmd or
Start->Run...->Command)

Navigate to the folder where the file is stored and enter the following:
pci32 -S >data.txt

After the program has finished, please send the data.txt file to my
email address _______@evenbalance.com so I can take a look at it. Thank you!

Next, please find attached a new pb client.

Please make a backup of your pb folder in your BF2 folder. Then extrace
the files into your BF2 folder - it will overwrite the pbcl.dll file in
the pb folder. If you extract the file in the bf2/pb folder this won't
work.

After you have done this, please join a few BF2 servers. Let me know how
it runs.

I agree with you on this. They fucke dthis up and no we have to pay for it. I just got this game 2 months ago and right now i feel the discs are just coasters...

So i uninstalled service pack 2 and now the game seems to work fine, you could try this solution and i hope it works for you.

isnt sp2 better than sp1 though? and i have an hp a1130n pc, it came with the OS intalled already so i wouldnt know how to unistall sp2, (which i dont think you can do anyways).

No sp2 to be unistalled, first because it was never installed from a disc or downloaded. and secondly because it came with the system, maybe downgrading to sp1? somehow? but im still looking around for the answer.
