WTF has happened to my FPS!? I havn't changed any settings in BF2 OR my system settings.. I havn't added any new programs.. Im usualy getting aroun 70 FPS.. but now its all around 5!!

I played for half an hour today, and I only got 1 point and I don't know how I got it, because my FPS lag was so bad.. What should I do to fix this!?

Its just FPS lag, the only net lag I get is when my sister is on the laptop downloading shit D:

Actually I was gonna say that the most recent windows update I did slowed everything down so I rolled it back.

Agreed, but beware how far back you go. It sounds great in theory, in practice it has been known to fuck stuff up.

alt ctrl del and close some user process(the ones you dont need), worked for me when this happened.

Yeah, I tried that, but the CPU usage was 0%, then 1%, then 0% again then 50%, then 0%

And then it stayed at 0%

I only have an AMD sempron 2800+ BTW, im getting a new computer very soon...

By the way, your computer will automaticaly set restore points periodically, unless you have disabled it.

Unfortunately I was "presented" something quite similar last night: Suddenly the game nearly freezes.

The internet speed (DSL 6000) and ping (fastpath) still were fine so I had a look at the active processes and found nothing obvious.

But even with BF2 stopped, the CPU usage showed something between 25 and 50% instead of the normal 0 to 2%.

A restarts everytime solved this problem for a while but it always came back after a shorter or larger period of time.

I will check for viruses tonight but I can't imagine this to be the problem.

My main system components: Asus SLI Premium, A64 3700+, 2 gigs, 7900 GT

Edit: No viruses found.
