If they fix BF2 in this next patch then i will definately be buying it if not i will probably wait a few weeks and read up about it if there is loads of crashes or major bugs i dont know if i want to give EA any more of my money! My mate has been saying to me i should get AF but to be honest the £5-6 that costs i can donate towards our (BAF) server which we as in many clans pay a lot of money for!
While i am at it OMFG they are taking their time with this patch! The number of players has halfed since the 1.3 patch and i am gettin fed up now and playing the game less and less every day!!! I am getting bored of the maps aswell! This is one of the reasons i will probably but 2142 same style (pretty much) some great new ideas ( i am sure their is some terrible ones aswell) and new maps!!! BF2 is starting to get a bit repetative now for me! So i will welcome Jallalalalalabad with open arms and f they bugger that up then stuff em!

I cannot believe people actually said they are going to buy 2142. I hope DICE and EA crash and burn.
To clarify that: Since BF2 is such a fantastic game, I will never give it up. But this doesn't mean, that I won't buy and play other games beside it.

I don't like the future theme BF2142 has. The last trailer was incredible bad and probably we won't play BF2142.

Idiot, all this is doing is measuring how well EA can hype games, TBH, 2142 looks around 50/50 to me, But I will leave it up to the demo to decide for me
As for buying it right away, I would say hell no, as I just discovered SF, which IMHO is far better value than 2142, infact, Ill get another stick of ram instead of getting 2142
Why?
Because, BF2 will stay strong, and by getting another stick of ram, I can enjoy loverly textures, until recent, I never knew there was a picture of Saddam on a wall! And, by still playing BF2+SF, I will get my value out of SF and by the time I move on, 2142 will have its fate decided, I bought BF2 at Christmas, and I have gotten awesome value out of it, thats Half the life of the game Ive played, and its value is more than fulfilled
If 2142 can last until I finish BF2, than it definitely deserves Sarrk's Seal of Approval
Moving on to this 'Stop 2142' bullshit
They say that by stopping 2142's production, BF2 will get better........
Wrong dickheads, stopping 2142 being made will do nothing for BF2, because they are being made by different divisions
Wow, like stopping a large portion of a company from making a game, is going to help another portion, located in a different area work harder on another game
Even if 2142 was shelved, those code monkeys wouldn't idle for long, they'd move on to different games, because BF2 is already being coded efficiently
Don't give me bullshit about patches either, Until you work for Dice and can give me physical evidence that they screw stuff up on purpose or they have half their brain missing, [Which most of you whiners would fill that category nicely] I still stand by the Game
How many actually do your research on 2142? Incase you haven't noticed, there are bonuses for BF2 veterans, that will be interesting.................

I dunno, i won't buy it straight away. I'll see if DICE fucked up again or not, wait for a patch or two to see if they fuck it up even more. If they don't i might buy it.

Dunno, depends on whether the game is anygood or not.
Quake Wars definitely has the better engine, however that doesn't make a good game. However, since the engine is an iD one it's guaranteed to be near bugfree.
However, if my experience with BF2 is anything to go by then with 2142 we can expect a totally unstable game that changes with each patch.

same here. i just dont like futuristic battles. i for one wont buy the game. not because bf2 is still buggy as hell or because i hate ea/dice, its just that futuristic battles dont appeal to me. if bf2 dies off when 2142 comes out then its time for a new game. hopefully nintendo wii or call of duty 3 for pc comes out by thenzer0fus10n wrote:

I'll buy it because i know how much work goes into making a game with such detail, physics, textures, and graphics. BF2 has a lot of bugs because it's got so much In it.. why do u think it's almost a req to have 2gb of ram? Therefore.. If i get colonel by xmas ill get 2142 lol
