On mass destruction. There is a waterfall. Great place to snipe and have a beer.

- Best quiet place for an in-game picnic (or machinema on full server)?
Awe he stole mine.... Well on the 32 Oman there's that NW and SW village that are accessable on the 32 but only flags on the 64. Heh, I might go play sniper for a few games and look for some sweet spots.>LOD<Dougalachi wrote:

the outskirts of zatar wetlands, thats the ultimate driving, hiking map
i still stand by the coolness factor of it. lots of houses for AT to hide behind. and maybe an AA on every roof.PspRpg-7 wrote:
Intense? You mean some infantry getting killed by tanks, then the A10 / Frogfoot comes and slaughters the whole lot?i3igpete wrote:
yeah i absolutely love that suburban part of road rage. they should have put a control point there IMO... it would be like intense firefighting in our own backyards.

I was messing around in Kubra yesterday trying to find an alternative route to go from the US uncap to the construction site without passing the refueling station. I tried taking a DPV through the mountains but after a certain point you have to get out and hike. Eventually I got there and realized there were quite a few great places to snipe - good cover and views to multiple flags.
But man it was quiet up there. I seriously could have brought some sandwiches, a bottle of wine and a good book. A nap would have been no problem. That's my post-modern BF2 experience. No fighting - just a good hike.
It occurred to me that if I ever wanted to film some machinema during a game, even on a full server, it would definitely be possible up there. You hardly even get a helo flying overhead.
Another great spot for a picnic or machinema would be the uber American suburbia cul-de-sacs in the east center part of Operation Road Rage. Very cool setting and some great details - ladders on the backs of houses, work sheds in the backyards, the crashed out car that rammed a stop sign. Opposing commander would probably be more likely to say MEH rather than try to arty you. It's so far away from everything that it's not even a good place to snipe.
I guess there are a few other good spots for some scenic mountain hiking. East of the Hotel and the Village fort on Oman. North central on Clean Sweep, including the small island out there.
Anyway what are some other places where you can get away from the action, enjoy the sunset, and take a quick nap?
Since you don't specify BF2 only, I'll have to say the two "towns" in the middle of the desert on El Alamein in BF1942.
anyone can provide screenshots?
Nearly every spot on Karkand except the hotel.Try the factory, when the tanks are gone you won't see anybody there.
