No capturing flags skill?

Hi!
What is up with all those lazy-ass players just looking for easy kills but do not cap flags at all?

I've seen it on Wake today,all flags except the Airfield are in the hands of the Marines and everybody is making a f*ckin' infantry stalemate out of this.And then these noobs have even problems defending that,too much people just standing on the helipad and waiting to get killed.

When I as a sniper can manage to grab a FAV,drive like crazy to the South Base(3 roadkills on the way) and place my claymores there and neutralize/cap the flag all by myself - it should be possible for all the others to do it with their assault rifles,grenade launchers and medpacks.

But do they?

Noooo way,they just spawn again and again at the airfield with no intention of getting another flag back and die over and over again in unnecessary infantry fights,get run over by DPVs and leave all the tanks for the Marines to steal.But bashing the snipers for being campers...yeah,right.

Can't be that difficult to get some flags back you would think,but not with the noobish team-spirit I have to deal with...

I totally agree. I greatly improved my scores when I made capping flags priority #1!!! Couple nights ago on Dragon Valley, I was Chinese and we had ALL flags capped except for US port flag. Full 64 server and I'm the only one trying to cap the last flag. I must have capped the flag two different times alone before the game ended. Of course we won but geez, gimme some help guys!

Okay, now all you regular posters that have heard this a thousand times can now chime in with all the sarcastic remarks about this post. We all know it's coming.

On Wake, the last remaining soldier (all flags were under control by the enemy), he just kept flying a jet, he jumped out, and then he is going to snipe! Sheesh... and then he got knifed...

I agree as well, but,{chime} this is like the 1 millionth time team work has been addressed in the forums ffs.{/end chime}

I usually don't bother. I usually have the stupidest bunch of people since the stone age on my team. If I waste my time capping a flag, it will fall into enemy hands in about 30 seconds.

So, I don't even bother.

BTW: Before I get flamed, I'm not boasting to be better than anyone else, but it usually turns out that my team are just a bunch of morons. Sometimes they're good, but not usually.

People play Wake Island because they want to fly planes. They're not going to do anything else.

You want to get away from that, play maps which don't have planes.

YEAH, we get it, people don't capture flags, they just spawn kill and point whore, bitching on the forums about it won't help. Just walk around them next time and go do it yourself.

I dont mind as with the other teams general inability to go and defend flags I'll be getting 4 points per cap on my own. Only problem is when jets or arty come for me

It would seem you get more points for kills than capping flags.Far too often people are out for themselves and loose sight of the objective.I don't suspect that will ever change.

I hate going behind the enemy and capping flags. Its boring for me. If people want to do it go ahead, just don't expect my help. I love pushing straight through infantry and capping a flag. But goodluck doing that on wake, that map is to 1 dimensional to be a decent infantry IMO.

You are severely mistaken my friend... If everyone was there to fly planes don't you think everyone would be on the chinks and waiting for the jets but no.. half of them sit and wait for dont_be_ss, me, towelly etc to pick em off

Okay, fine, I take it back. Not everone, but most people play solely to get planes. Don't expect most people to do anything else.

I was playing on a Karkand server the other night, as support. We were USMC and MEC had all the flags. The whole MEC side was a clan (KoS i think), and I was the only one capping flags, AND the ONLY one in a squad! Over and over I kept telling pople to join and cap some flags, but NOOOOO! They just kept spawning over and over again at the uncaps, eating nades and M95 bullets. I probably capped 8 flags for nothing, as soon as I got them and went to another, the clan guys just got it back. Kinda hard to do it on your own!

That's how I always feel,may it be when defending the south tip on Wake or trying to cap some flags back.
The moment the US get one single flag on the island everybody leaves the frickin' beaches unguarded.
I'm defending and spotting at the south tip usually,and the RIBs and blackhawks just keep on coming.
Do you think that anyone would get the idea to help me out there?
You can call for backup as much as you like,the only thing that happens when somebody shows up is that they steal the FAV I specifically parked there to defend the beach.

Most of the time it's like this:As a lone sniper I have to fight off nearly a whole army by myself while 25 idiots camp on the airfield and f*ck each other over for the jet.

Yeah,I've heard that a thousand times before.

I've played for some time in a TacticalOps clan before BF1942.
And since BF1942 I've realized that the game is not the best choice for clan matches,unless you got a clan of 32 people who are always available.
8 vs 8 seems totally lame to me,then you could play counterstrike aswell.

I like the chaos of the Battlefield so I always play 64 player servers - and finding teamwork from randon strangers is one of the things that make the game really great.
If only there were some more people who have this kind of Band of Brothers-feeling,rather than 13 year old kiddies on a powertrip in a jet.

Mj.Blindfisch I agree completely with what you're saying here. Although I feel compelled to point out that it's a bit ironic coming from someone with flag points as low as yours

I was actually playing Wake the other night as Chinese (well, I didn't want to lose, did I? LOL) and a minute or so into the round I realised there was no commander so I ditched my plan to snipe and managed to get a new high score for the map. Not that great a score but the round was; we lost the airfield a couple of times but PLA got it back and at one point we were down to just the airfield. The other team had a really strong squad that played together and defended and capped as a unit... good stuff watching them do their thing in the satellite view... and when we were down to that last flag with two tanks attacking from north and west I was convinced we were about to lose. But people capped flags, sometimes solo, in the rear and with a little help from the commander dropping supplies and buggies (my scroll wheel is broken, which really sucks when you're commanding) we managed to eventually retake the entire island. Gold medal for me, win for the team, new high score for the map, all that good stuff.

Ditto here. My new high score for Karkand was for a looong round where I must have helped cap 30 flags, at least, and capped maybe ten solo.

What else are we supposed to talk about that hasn't already been addressed? I think just about every thread on this forum has been discussed somewhere else already. If you don't like the post, why make the comment? Kind of a waste of time isn't it?

I used to play Wake all the time. I absolutely loved that map. Then, I stopped playing it for the same reasons mentioned above. Wake attracts the worse people.
