When it says '5 minutes in ground defence ( eg mounted mg) to earn your basic ground defence; does it mean 5 minutes non-stop, or 5 minutes over many separate occasions.
The reason I ask is that I have neither basic transport or ground defence - but in total I have been in them way more than 5 and 10 minutes respectively.

just jump in a TOW and go get a pop and see whats on tv, then com back and u have ur badge

You need to do the 5 mins in one round IAR (In A Round) and yes: juming into a TOW and going off for lunch is a good idea, but you may be kicked for idling, so tap the mouse every minute

It means "at least" 5 minutes in ground defense .... servers are a little busy with coordinating all the other things on the battlefield, and they'll award your ground defense badge when things calm down a little. So, if that means you got to stay in the TOW for 7-8 minutes, then that's what you have to do.

(It builds patience ... you'll need this discipline when going for veteran and expert badges).

Or you could do it the legitimate way, but I just get more satisfaction actually earning badges than getting them the easy way *shrugs* whatever floats your boat (cue attempted enemy boat spotted 'humour')
