Quite frankly, most people who want to fly the J-10 on Wake aren't concerned about fun or even helping their team win. PLA mostly wins on Wake anyway unless the USMC has a smart, skilled squad, and making loops in a plane dropping bombs and strafing isn't exactly my idea of "fun". Truth is, most people do it for the stuff EA gives them. E-badges. E-ranks. E-points. E-medals. Other assorted e-bling to enlarge their e-penis. Then they go and say "im l33t because i can j10whore and noobject n00bz who take MY j10becazsue i wants teh leet pointz, lolz!!11!q"

Yep, on the odd occaision I have to do it on Dalian (don't play Wake a lot) and if I get TK'd it's my revenge against the TKers. Unless the underlying TK code is executed without calling the higher level interface section which says "Team damage!" or "Poet [Teamkills] Gimpboy" (which I very much doubt), then you're safe.Todd_Angelo wrote:

Wake is great on a well admined server. Try Internode servers.
I never have any problems with Wake regardless of the server. Although, thats probably because I dont fly the jets or helis on it and actually do the dirty work on the ground.

1. i find that if u get in the j10 and hit afterburners, taking off straight away, most noobs willstep outta the way.
2. who cares if u do squash them, just whore up some points and get a gold medal to show those noobs up.
3. if they tk u, dont retaliate, this creates a big tk war. only noob pilots tk for jets, so they'll be dead within less than a minute.
4. im a jet whore, except im more worried about making my team win than getting killz. id rather take out a tank attacking a friendly base than to kill 2 enemies in a boat. i dont attack the carrier at all, not even fly over there, its much more fun to shoot down a blackhawk who's gone all the way around the edge of the map to avoid you, than to kill them when parked on the carrier.
5. wake is an orsm map, especially when US get a base.
my advice: just run over those damn noobs, and learn where to stand to always get in the jet among spawn.

Let me tell you about this maggot yesterday. I beat him to the j10. Flew around killed some things, when i noticed this guy was flying the cow and just hovering over the runway, everytime i came into reload that idiot would flew in front of me I managed to avoid him 4 times. Until i got to a point where I couldnt avoid him. End story

Who cares if some idoit Steps infront of your jet and punishes... if you cant Fly and Get the points to get them back, then you shouldn't be flying in the first place.

wake is a sweet map, and if you can't cope with a kamikazi noob, dont get in he jet.
what pisses me off is when they actually teamkill you with an eryx, or park a tank on the runway. but even then, ill beat em back into the jet, eventually take off and own the other 63 people in the server.
I'm waiting for the no vehicle option in 1.4. Then all you vehicle whores can kill eachother of while the infantry is playing good games on no vehicle servers.
Wake Island. The second "first to the jet gets TK'd map" next only to Dalian Plant.

I was playing as US commander on Wake this weekend - I got loads of easy arty kills off all the 'tards waiting around the chopper/jet spawnpoint on the airfield. If you're going to wait around there doing nothing, sorry but I'm gonna drop arty on you.
Also this weekend was the first time I've played in jets myself, I bought a joystick figuring that it would open up a new side to BF2 that I haven't explored yet. Only problem is that it's impossible to actually get into a jet on any server with more than 2 players.
