When i search for servers i always set the filter to 100 or less and i usualy join ones that come up with 0 ping. However, when i join its super laggy, like a frame every 10 seconds. And when it clears up after a minute or so i check my ping and it says its like 200-300+. Is it my internet or is it computer related? I have verizon dsl and my comp has a pentium 4 2.8ghz, nvidia 6600oc, and 512 ram.

servers with 0 ping usually mean they have just crashed ( thanks 1.3) try servers with a ping lower than 100 but NOT 0

dont join servers w/ 0 ping...its a lie. go for serveres with under 150 but over 40. otherwise, the browser is usually lying to you

I had 1 gig of RAM and this happened. Now have 3 Gigs and it runs smooth.

yes every game i enter for the first 1-2 minutes my framerate is lower then the marianas trench. then it clears up

True, I had the same. Vanished when I upgraded RAM from 1 to 1,5 Gig

yeah, RAM is key here. As usual, more is always better. I have 1 GB and I usually need around 5-10 secs at the start of each round until the map runs smoothly and the FPS keep coming in as fast as they should.

Do you have ping issues with other Multiplayer FPS ?

i use 3 gb ram, but 2 gb is ok, less than that and people will be capping flags before ur even loaded!

yeah, that's true. I miss out on 1 or 2 minutes of every new map, simply becuase it takes me forever to load ( IDE HD's and only 1 GB RAM... )

I had this problem to. So i check this out and wen you run battlefield its will yous almost 1 gig to run it.
To be precis 915 mb
