If so, which one do you like the best and why?  Are you looking forward to any?

I'm a die hard FFVII fan because I basically became immersed in the story.  I've played it a few times over logging 90+ hours each time, I've seen the movie many many times, and am looking forward mostly to the Dirge of Cerebus 3rd person shooter/RPG Vincent spin-off due out this month.
I'm also looking forward to FF12 for the PS2, and I'll eventually look into the one they're toting for the PS3.
FF8 and FF3 for the SNES (FF6 for you PS fans) were others I put a lot of time into.
10 and 10-2 (especially 10-2) were bloody terrible games.

Any takers?

omg!

im gonna say it once...

Final Fantasy 3 is NOT, i repeat, NOT Final Fantasy 6.

FF3 never get released to us lot, and now its coming out finally.

anyway i love final fantasy aswell i di like final fantasy 7 (the first one i played) and got hookedstraight the way. i didnt rly get that into 8 (i got to the last castle bit, and found out you had to use ALL characters, and i only trained up a certain few. i soon gave up) but 9 was amazing.

10 and 10-2 was cool, but not as good as 7 or 9.

i was thinking about getting 11, but i dont like the whole paying monthly thing.

i rly only like the 3d FF's, as i didnt get into any 2d ones, except for 4 (i had a glitch wer i got millions of exp. it was still hard even on level 99)

anyway, yeh i like Final Fantasy *looks at name* and Zelda.

My favourite is by far FF9, however, closely followed by 8, then finally 10.

I didn't particuarly like 7, not sure why.

No, FF3 is not 6, sorry.
FF6 was released for the SNES as FF3, that's why I said it.  The real FF3 I've never played.

11 was good but got boring fast, and paying 30 (cdn) a month for each character was just plain retarded.

FF7 is the penultimate in the Final Fantasy series.  FFXI was a shame to the series.  Never played it, never will.  Now that they've gone back to not raping their audience with monthly fees, I've got FFXII on order ...

VII is the best FF I ever played IMO.

I loved the materia system and the story, it was just playable over and over again for some reason. I think I lost at least 250+ hours to that game.

I'd say 9 was better than 7 tho, but it is close.

Big fan myself, 7 Being my all time favourite (like almost everyone else) But a lot of people seem to consider 6 to be the best and i dont see how...   It was good but i dont think it surpasses 7.
Looking forward to DOC but im not really bothered with ff12 and i wont bother getting a ps3, so Unless they start putting more ff titles on the pc then i wont be getting anymore of the series

They'll probably release a bunch for the PC.
When they start showing stuff for 13 for the ps3 it might sway me, but I'm not going looking for it

FFX (10) was the best X/2 (10.2) was ok(ish) 11 is a mmo so im not playing it, although number 7 has a good story line number 10 beats it by a little bit.

played and completed FFX for about 5-8 times, atleast 500+ hours in it(220+in one save) i have FFVII, FFVIII, FFIX, FFX and FFX-2, gonna buy FFVII:DoC and both FFXIII games...

FFVII was my first game, played it ALOT and completely love the game, have both movies(advent children and last order) FFVIII has a awesome story, but it gets boring at the castle at the end... FFIX has the best graphics i've seen on a PS1 game so far, the story is fucking awesome, but for some reason i don't like it as much as FFVII and FFX... FFX has it all... story, graphics, voices and the coolest charecters... FFX-2 has the fast pace battles and it's cool too play, but the story isn't as good as FFX...

i can't wait too try FFXII, comes out early 2007 in EU right?

never tried FFXI though, looks like it's the same as WoW and i hate WoW...

Hmm, thats a tough call... I too would say 7 is the best...but not far behind are the U.S. FF3 and even FF2. I remember having a tough time beating FF1 and Nintendo Power MAgazine releasing thier full issue FF1 stategy guide, I played that game for a looong time.  The ability to pick who was in your group in FF1 made replay value high (remember though, back then, the graphics were top notch). I do have to say that Ive always liked the swords, dungeons, castles and magic aspect of the game. The newer installments are crap basically. Like BLitzball, was it FF10 that had Blitzball? what happened to side quests and hidden dungeons?! Blitzball....Square can take Blitzball and shove it.  But anyways, FF7s storyline is too cool, the only way it compares with FF3 is when it came out (FF3), it was the most amazing game ever and was just a game I loved...well, until FF7 came out. I guess I call FF3 and FF7 equal both for Nostalgia reasons...

Final Fantasy is one of the first games I remember playing, and probably my favorite series ever. I'd say my favorite is 6. IMO it was the pinnacle of the series; although it was basically a run-of-the-mill "save the world" story, I loved the characters and the sprite-based graphics. I've given the newer-gen games (FF7 and up) a chance but none of them even came close to the earlier games; in fact, I thought all them were pretty much crap except for Tactics. The characters are stupid, the plotlines are convoluted, the games focus too much on graphics, the battle and magic systems always try to do something innovative and fail miserably. This is what I'd love to see in the next Final Fantasy: a game where your goal is to save the princess, the characters are interesting but don't look like Squaresoft smoked shrooms during the character design process (no yellow half-vests on "heterosexual" men, please), and the battle options are as follows: Fight, Magic, Item, Run.

People in other countries often refer to FF3 as FF6 just because there's less confusion. There are two FF3's but only one FF6 - when people say "FF6," you know what game they're talking about.

gotta love no. 7 because the story, the characters, the music was outstanding, now the graphics mite not be all that good but who cares, it totally wipes anythin else of the market.

no.8 was my fav tho....i think, got a hard time choosin between 7 and 8, i loved the atmosphere in 8, incredible.

no 9, stuff started goin downhill. nevertheless an awesome game tho.

no.10 ...err, lost the glorius touch and with the crappy voice-overs it never came up the the 3 playstation games. the graphic kicked ass tho.

the older ones, i liked no6 the best. have only seriously played 5 and 6 tho. cant really judge by the three earliest
