Rather than little dinghies, why not give us a gunboat? A bit of AA on the front and a decent amount of anti-troop weapons would mean that going to the shore in Wake isn't suicide. Plus it'd give the modelers at DICE something fun to do.
joint operations had gun boats and hovercrafts which could carry apc's etc.
I like the idea alot, but honestly do you think DICE would do this? They cant be arsed to correct the J10 and F-35 (let alone put oiut a stable 1.4), i doubt they will add in new content.

You mean this, that DICE couldn't figure out the Code for it, so they just said "fuck it, we'll put 4 boats under the carrier instead cause we are to lazy"
They should put that back in the game for/after 1.4 if they can ever get it working.
The absence of ship to ship combat is a bad feature for this game. It's not an all-out war unless you have land, air, and sea combat. Actually, I'm pissed that the Germans didn't have any watercraft in 1942 now, too!
Hmmm, what if they rendered the LCAC onto say one or two places on Wake and otehr carrier maps, then that was like an uncappable spawn, with a couple apcs or tanks along with an infantry spawn. Less coding for them, wasy access to land for U.S., China has to work a little harder to baserape.

DICE did made a boat like that but it was removed, dunno what reason but it would been great to use on The iron Gator to enter the docking base.
yeah i now i agree every time you get into that small boat when you are on wake island which I play a lot, you cant go anywhere without being killed so quickly, the only chance you got is to get to the beach while there isn't any fire around.

I like the thought of having a gunboat, but like everybody else has mentioned; dice is too lasy to do anything about it. But +1 for the thought.
How about a full blown battleship. Then of course, everytime you blew one up with a TV missle you would hear cries of...YOU SANK MY BATTLESHIP!!!

The boat doesn't have a .50 cal mounted on it. Just a stock us support gun instead.
