Ok, so I allready posted about this once so don't go and say ''SEARCH!!!''
But anyways, everytime I play and the server changes map I get kicked for idling, because somehow it takes ages to veryify the client data, the strange this is, this is going on since a month of something so it wasn't there in the beginnin and when I bought this game, I just reformated (defragmentated, dunno if that is the correct English word) my Hardrive, so it can't be that my computer is just being slow and all, thers only like 20 gig out of the avaiblebel 80 gigs filled up,  but in the last post I made, people said ''clean out your ''cache'' but I've no I idea what a ''cache'' is and how to clean it out, pls help because I'm  stuck to 24/7 only now, which sucks since I can't play with most of my clanmates then.
Also I thought that I had gotten rid of the problem, because my dad hadn't removed the Catylist Control Center for my graphics card from my PC, which automaticly loaded up the CLI (command line interface) ButWhich made my CPU spike to 100%, which I have removed now and when I run BF2 I will close everything non- fital to my PC and still it takes so long.

People say upgrade your RAM, but I got 1 gig, which should be just fine. I just want to know about that ''cache'' thing.

Help meeee!
Thanks in advance

Cleaning out the cache? That makes no sense to me what so ever with regards to BF2....

The only cache i know of is the internet one : / I fail to see how cleaning that out will speed up BF2 on loading.

Try using www.ccleaner.com 's program

Uncheck the box for deleting cookies or you'll lose your leaderboard.

This program also has a free registry checking program that's worth using. It's the button on the left that says "issues"

The verifying client data thing is just the server checking your account.  It uses the internet to verify, so maybe you need to upgrade your internet.  Or if you have cable internet, play at different times because if other people use internet too, they could be dragging yours down.

Open up device manager, find you hard drive and right click it, go to properties and make sure the transfer mode is set to udma if available - if it says pio mode and wont let you change it then you'll need to re-install your mobo drivers.

Verifying client data is mainly hard drive reading and a bit of processing power so things related to that are what I'd try.

Hey guys, very useful advices but he was asking about the BF2 cache....

Now RDMC(2), open My Computer, go into your Documents folder. There you'll find a folder named BF2.
Open it and look for another folder inside called cache. You can safely delete it, since next time you run BF2 the program will automatically create a new folder.
Keep in mind though that by deleting the cache folder, you'll loose all your in-game setings, so you will have to customize the control and video settings again.

Hope that helped.

PS: Next time if you upgrade your video drivers or you change your video card, to get rid of all the elements of previous drivers use Driver Cleaner Pro. It's a free software, do a Gooogle search for it and you can download it.
Manually deleting the Catalyst drivers is NOT enough!!!

You won't lose your in game settings.

The full path will be something like

My Documents -> Battlefield 2 -> mods -> bf2 -> cache

Deleting it just removes any video optimisation BF2 has applied, so you won't really lose anything.

Ooops you're right!

EDIT: I'm not on my gaming PC now so that's why the confusion.

I used to delete also my profile and server logos as well...yes it's under another folder.
Anyway deleting and retreiving your profile is useful too.

Thanks for the correction rh27:)
