Surely =GEEK= dont need to spam about some stupid cartoon that sucked.
Finally...a thread i can relate too, i've been a big turtles fan for a LONG time...have a huge batch of their toys and games from way back in the day...i'm talkin', original TMNT for the NES where Donatello ruled all with reach AND power. I'd have to say Don is my favorite, hands down. I've always idolized him and he has even gone so far as to influence my course of martial arts training in real life. I'm not handy with a bo staff...but i can sure knock someone's block off with a well placed kick. I'm anxious to see the new CGI movie even though they kind of remind me of salamanders, but i'm die-hard TMNT so any turtles movie is a movie...even the shitty 3rd movie...holy cow that thing was garbage...at any rate, nice thread and it's good to see other turtle lovers out there.
Huge fan of TMNT growin up...fav was Raphael, sticks are cool...but smaller stabbing weapons FTW. (even though sais are made strictly for defense...I'd stab ppl.)
Actually...came across this last week...

On topic - As an avid comic book reader back in the day, I had copies of the Eastman and Laird books. Good stuff. Sceptre of time guest starring Cerebus was my favorite storyline, although the somber mood following the xmas Shredder attack was good writing too.
Check out book one here.
Click and enjoy.

lol, seaweedspit trys to do another spam topic and we derail it into something starting to be decent. Don't ruin it BTW.
As this is starting to cover comics and graphic novels in general i would appreciate any recommendations?
I would recommend Lone Wolfe and cub, but then that is very famous, so you may all have herd of it already.
I cant believe simple pen drawings can be so clever and fluid, pic one up in a shop and have a look.

Scene: A cafe. One table is occupied by a group of Vikings wearing horned helmets. Whenever the word "spam" is repeated, they begin singing and/or chanting. A man and his wife enter. The man is played by Eric Idle, the wife is played by Graham Chapman (in drag), and the waitress is played by Terry Jones, also in drag.
Man: You sit here, dear.
Wife: All right.
Man: Morning!
Waitress: Morning!
Man: Well, what've you got?
Waitress: Well, there's egg and bacon; egg sausage and bacon; egg and spam; egg bacon and spam; egg bacon sausage and spam; spam bacon sausage and spam; spam egg spam spam bacon and spam; spam sausage spam spam bacon spam tomato and spam;
Vikings: Spam spam spam spam...

Waitress: ...or Lobster Thermidor a Crevette with a mornay sauce served in a Provencale manner with shallots and aubergines garnished with truffle pate, brandy and with a fried egg on top and spam.
Wife: Have you got anything without spam?
Waitress: Well, there's spam egg sausage and spam, that's not got much spam in it.
Wife: I don't want ANY spam!
Man: Why can't she have egg bacon spam and sausage?
Wife: THAT'S got spam in it!
Man: Hasn't got as much spam in it as spam egg sausage and spam, has it?
Vikings: Spam spam spam spam... (Crescendo through next few lines...)
Wife: Could you do the egg bacon spam and sausage without the spam then?
Waitress: Urgghh!
Wife: What do you mean 'Urgghh'? I don't like spam!
Vikings: Lovely spam! Wonderful spam!
Waitress: Shut up!
Vikings: Lovely spam! Wonderful spam!

Vikings: Spam spam spam spam. Lovely spam! Wonderful spam!
Waitress: Shut up!! Baked beans are off.

Thats enough Joker, last warning.
UseOfWeapons - depending on your graphic novel preference, J.O.Barr's original version of "The Crow" is moving, as well as the historical, "Maus" by Art Speigelman.

From what I understand, it (plot of "The Crow") is based on a personal tragedy suffered by J. O. Barr.
EDIT: Just did some research on that. He has suffered great loss, but not quite what I was led to believe. Read here.

Thanks =Geek= members, you lot seem like a freakin' awesome clan, i hope i can see you guys around the battlefield someday so we can team up and take out some serious numbers on the enemy. Glad to see the thread is still alive and kickin' though, nice book recommendations, i've been looking for something to entertain me when i'm on the golden throne, and i'm not saying that as a knock on the suggestions, that's just where i get most of my serious reading accomplished. As any man should...it's the only place the wife doesn't nag the shit out of me...it comes of it's own free will.
cheers dude, u seem awesome urself hope to see u around on the battlefieldKyouteki wrote:

BTW SeaweedSpit is a spamer, and were cool with Joker. That collectors edition spam is fantastic. I propose that the turtles at one point have eaten spam, and there for its on topic.
Thanks for the novel recommendations, i will check them out.
Any 'stick' weapon FTW, you have th moral high-ground with a non bladed weapon, and can still kick ass.
