I have been playing on BF2 for 4 months now.  Which translates into 435 hours and almost 26000 points.  Earned First Sarge a few weeks ago.  I won't go into my stats or awards.

My point is:  I see many mouthy people playing and I wondered how old they are.  Some of them act like 10 year old children.  Others appear to be just asshatting teens. It is rare that I find someone that seems to act their age on BF2.

I was wondering...who is the oldest person playing on BF2?  I don't think I am.  I am 51 years old and love the BF2 game.

Any Ideas on the oldest person playing on BF2?

There's like a billion threads about how old people are, most are between 18-25 (I think) and the oldest I remember seeing was 68 or 72. But as you should know maturity can not be measured by age.

You are so correct that age does NOT equal maturity.  Thanks for the response.  I was just curious.  I would love to see those "seniors" play sometime.  That would be interesting.

BTW, you think EA would give me a discount on BF 2142 if I show them my AARP card?  ROFL LMAO

We have a member that is 65 years young, and he loves to play. Good team mate, and a great guy.

I used to run war games for the Navy in the 1990's.  Traveled all over the world conducting mock wars.  Some of the BF2 scenarios reminds me of those days.

Get all those seniors together and form the geriatric squad  *LOL*   I am 28, but I play/have played with quite a few people who are in there 40's, 50's, and at least one 60's.  I prefer the older players because they tend to be more into playing the game for fun and not points.  We analyze whole map stategies rather than the best place to spawn camp.

Heh, 76 year old stats padders. :S

I've played Day of Defeat: Source with a 50 year old, and BF2 with a 45 year old. It's usually better to play with them, actually.

Oldest, I have no clue.  I've played with my friend's dad, he's 54.  Kind of odd playing with him, he's a vietnam vet who doesn't like talking about that.  Very tactical player, knows when to aviod a fight and when to engage.  Very fun to play with people like that.

It tends to be the older players that use their microphones when i'm commanding for them. Calling for help over VOIP etc. brings a certain dimension to the game you dont get anywhere else (except TS, but that with people you know normally).

One of my favourite moments in BF2 was finishing a round with a squad of people who sounded around late 40s, one of them said "Thankyou for a great round gentlemen, I enjoyed myself and i'm glad to see teamwork still exists". It's that kind of thing you just wont see from someone my age normally, and I find it kind of saddening.

But in answer to the thread, the oldest i know of is 49 i believe.

We have two members aged 42 years young () and they're more fun to play with than the little idiot pricks I see day after day on our server.

When playing I tend to have squad conduct ops that is good for the game win.  And not concentrate on winning points for myself.  I also like to sit in an AA/stinger and harrass the flyboys.  Takes the heat off my teammates so they can cap flags etc.  The momentum of the game is what I watch, tweak my squad according to the game movement, and ask for directions from the commander etc.  I have earned all my vet awards and am working on my Expert awards.  I got the engy expert combat two months ago.  Love the engy kit.  Learning to use the AT kit now.  Just a fun game.  I wish I flew better though...but that tends to be a more lone wolf event. I like the team action better...

I just checked my stats and I have:

Global 25,795
Team 5,905
Combat 19,702
Commander 7,975

Army    Time           Wins    Losses    Ratio    B.R.
USMC    192:54:41   318      548       0.58     251
MEC      129:32:18    237     346       0.69     109
PLA       111:27:26    264     188       1.40     110

No aircraft here!  Armor only! Like I said, I can't fly that well, so I concentrate on what I can do... Armor!  Only 101 hours on Karkand! The rest of the time is on other maps.

Commander       65:32:11
Squad Leader    176:07:27
Squad Member  131:21:36
Lone Wolf           64:09:22
Total                437:20:58

I know my stats aren't that good but heck, my $10 keyboard and $12 mouse move faster than my dumb butt does!  ROFL  Plus, I am too stoopid to know how to use scripts or make macros.  I die alot, but I charge hard all the time.  Man, this is a fun game.

A friend of mine's dad plays with us and he's like 60 - almost a thousand hours too.  But yeah age doesn't equal skill or maturity.  My friends 4-year old kid plays with us too, one of the best medics I've seen.  He also commanded for us in a round and took a gold...

I used to play on DeathMatch 2.  But too many crazy kids there!  I like BF2 much better.

That is too cool that a 4 year old can Medic.  Wish I knew some of the servers you guys play on!  I think I make a good team member and will always try to spawn with whatever kit is needed too.  Yep, gotta help my squadmates and my team push on to victory!

I travel so much that I only get to play about two weeks a month.  My peice of poop laptop can't handle the game!  Argh.  So I get the jitters when I cant play!!!!!!

I love the player guides that are found here on this site.  I read them and try to pull ideas from them.  I think they help make me a better player by giving me a different look at the game.  Heck, I dont know everything and others have played this game much longer than I.
