When I try to use xfire to play bf2, xfire tries to open bf2 but every time bf2 just dies on me, anyone know whats going on?

first start up your xfire.. then start up BF2 like you normally would, like clicking the desktop ikon
so bf2 useually works ok... apart from with Xfire.

my bf2 works fine i just downloaded xfire and every time i try to join a server bf2 doesnt respond
Sorry, but I'm having a problem with Xfire too. A lot of the time when i am typing (not in bf2 or any game, just at the desktop) the letters will turn black to the point that I can't read what I am typing. Not a huge problem, just a minor nucence that i misspell words a lot that i cannot see.

If you have just installed Xfire then something may have gone wrong during installation. Try what i said above
this often happens when you copy and paste text into the message box... the test turns the colour of the text you just pasted. So, if you pasted some black text then, until you send a message, you will be typing in blackBolvisOculus wrote:

I have heard of this happening, but it happens to me randomly. It could be the very first message i typed in xfire after loggin in and its black.liquidat0r wrote:

Could be that the xfire file which has information on where bf2.exe is stored may be wrong. Have you changed the name of bf2.exe to something else?
If you have then go to your xfire folder and open with notepad the file xfire_games. It will have a large list of all games. Just find battlefield 2 and where it says something like LAUNCH NAME: just type in what your bf2.exe is called.

I've found xfire to be an odd program..
i have no problems joining thru xfire. try a complete re-install
the name is case sensitive try it in the fromat that your name is typed when you first started your bf2 account.
Yeah I have the same problem....I just use xfire for chatting now not joining servers
Whenever I click "Join Server" it starts up then goes to a black screen then I do Ctrl+Alt+Del and it says bf2 isn't responding. My user name is the same name as my bf2 name and I have reinstalled xfire twice.
Any suggestions?
