The tanks in 1942 were just like the tanks are in bf2. The only one where the driver wasn't the gunner was in the mobile artillery, where it didn't matter anyways because you had to aim the entire vehicle to aim the gun. Didn't really promote teamwork becasue it was easier for the driver to just aim the thing and switch to the gun rather than have a gunner. As for the helicopter/heli-gunner, at least the pilot has missiles he can shoot himself, where as the tank driver wouldn't have anything to do but drive. I can't see that working very well.BolvisOculus wrote:
I realize it was in 1942 (i never played it) and I realize they took it out because it was hard to get teamwork, but when it works in can be really fun.
i hate when that happens, although, for me, i haven't run into many people that do that, so i guess i'm either lucky, the people think i'm good enough to not steal the tank, or they are just genuine nice peoplerofllolz0rz wrote:
I dont really like when a person gets in the gunner seat, cuz once I get out to repair, they steal my tank
I’ve ‘stolen’ tanks for a few seconds before, I find it helps if the engineer isn’t paying attention and an apc turns round the corner
Seriously though only way to avoid losing your vehicle is to get away from the action before you repair, I watch the radar and if anyone gets to close then I hop back in.

I always jump into peoples vehicles when they start to repair. That way the tank doesn't get stolen, and I can cover him. Once he repairs it I hop out....that is unless he screams and complains before asking me what I'm doing.
